You can only play the race card if the person making the comment knows about your background anyway.

Is this going to be ongoing?

You were shot down for saying he was rubbish after 4 games. Fair enough. That's your opinion. Most didn't share it.

Do you really think we'll have changed our minds after one match? Least of all one match were beyond missing a goal, he played otherwise superbly?

Let's get back to the real debate about McLean istead of this petty 'racism' thing. FBTW you are a bit of a joke really. Anyway, I think McLean has the potential to come good but he will struggle to justify his £1.3m price tag. The statistic I keep coming up with is that he has only ever scored 7 goals in the Championship - not a player who's exactly proven at this level. Hardly a young player either. McLean does work very hard though and he played decent night, the partnership with super Matty Fryatt is coming on well.

Its not funny and its boring.
While im on though Mclean has done well in my eyes some good assists plenty of good runs and can jump his own height! Looking foward to him scoring i think thats when he ll relax and well see the best of him

You are clearly ******ed then. McClean was outstanding on Tuesday night. The club would be better off without £400 from a muppet like you.

his leap is immense - when he jumped about a metre in the air to beat 6ft 2in Andy O'Brien to the ball it defied the laws of gravity

The boy works his socks off. That pass to put Fryatt in was threaded through the eye of a needle. When he bangs one in, hopefully against the Scunts., it will be the first of many.

pathetic comeback. YOU are the one linking chimps to black people.. nobody knows what colour you are.. anyway a judge in this case would take the chimp comment to mean "feeble-minded".. do you admit to being this?

McLean was the best player on the park last night by a country mile. OK, he missed a good chance but he caused the leeds defence no end of problems. And that pass for fryatts goal was inch perfect

Well for me apart from the chance he continues to show that he has some talent definately and certainly physically. He is a handful and the fact that he can beat to brutes at the back for numerous headers and hold it up well, he has a touch ten times better than Caleb... He has done more than Jay Simpson, however much i feel sorry for him due to the lack of supply he had. I think he will start scoring as long as him and Fryatt continue to make chances, against worse times we will start scoring!

My only gripe against McLean is that his touch and control goes far far away at times, sometimes when it pings away from him I can't help but think even me grandma could of controlled that, and quite often his 2nd touch is a tackle. But he's definitely got it in him though as he sometimes takes some beautiful first touches and the way he links play with his one touch pass and move style is great. I think he's been brilliant for us since we signed him and just waiting for him to bang one away now, although that's not on his task sheet judging by the way he plays and how NP spoke about him in his interview, any goals would be a bonus.

    FBTW:
if your season pass is £400, then you must be a relatively new passholder.
You get aloyalty discount for being a long term passholder, mine is only £12 18s 4d!!

On a serious note. I think McClean is a great buy. Every ball played into him, especially long and high ones, he manages to get something on it or "bother" his marker. He makes a good effort for every ball.
Conversely Mr Garcia makes feeble half arsed attempts and hardly ever wins an ariel challenge.
Barmby is the same, out jumps lads much bigger (which is the majority)
I'm not arsed if AM doesn't become a prolific scorer, I forecast his assist rate will guarantee him a regular first team place.
Yet another good signing by the slightly dour but very effective AP.

This thread went off on a slight tangent one thinks but it is an amusing read none the less.

As for Boothferry, he is of course allowed his opinions and should be accepted by the forum even if he is a lone figure, like he says, he pays his money to watch the team so has a just right to comment...good or bad.

I would like to aks the question though...who contributes more...Garcia, Folan, Cullen (when playing for us) or even Simpson in comparison to to McLean...clearly the answer is McLean.

Who is more likely to create a chance for Fryatt...or anyone else for that matter......McLean

Who is more likely to actually score a goal.....McLean

Who is likely to hold off a defender and lay the ball off........

Who is more likely to win a header.........

I could go on but I think the gist is there for all to see.

He was my Man of the Match on Tuesday by a country mile, works hard, never stops running and is so strong holding the ball up that anyone who has 2 brain cells can see he is going to create a lot of chances for Fryatt.

Pearson had a plan to get those 2 playing together...it s going to work and we are going to score.

Shame Stewart has to be on the wng though, maybe we can play 4-3-3 sometimes.

boothferry, please look at the game when you next go to kc stadium, mcleans roll is to take the pressure off and feed fryatt, and i would hazard a guess that this was why np brought him in,he is playing this roll extreemly well,so if he happens to score a few goals in the process well then they are a bonus!
look at rooney this season has only had a couple of goals all season,up to his last game where he knocked two in,but how many assist did he make ,i would venture a guess to say 80% of all goals scored, and his midfield and defencive contribution have been impeachable.i know you will say ah but mcclean is not a rooney, aand yes i most certainly agree ,but have only put this forward for you to maybe get things into prospective for you.
and oh bye the way lambrettaman, any more racist comments like the ones posted by boothferry, should be censored and all of his future posts moderated.we can do without comments like that on this new site.lets start as we mean to go on and keep these kind of comments off the site.

Oh crap...can I just make it known (in case I decide to be a regular contributor to this forum) that my user name was chosen quite randomly a few days ago, and NOT as some kind of reference to this thread.

Mclean is a quality played, in my eyes, others might disagree, but he plays alot like Jozy Altidore, they are a similar player in the way the hold up tha ball for their teammate the only diference iss Mclean has a strike partner to supply to, AM is a good buy ok he may not be banging em in now but it will all come in time, look at the side now, everyone apart from andy dawson is someone NP has brought in and they play well together that is a great achievment so when they are all fully gelled the side will be a great on
