If you were to assume the north(west) was like Coronation Street in real life you would have a case to give it a wide berth, if you were to assume all footballers socialise in the city they ply their trade you'd be way off the mark.
Man Utd/City players in the main choose Cheshire to live and the players at LFC/EFC tend to choose in general Birkdale/Ainsdale or the Wirral, so the "goldfish bowl" situation rarely happens due the exclusivity of the area were it's no big deal to see a footballer in a local eaterie or pub, golf course or even supermarket.
London must be sound for the top players on big dosh but I kinda doubt most of them spend most nights in the city.

 

Hmmmm I'm still not convinced. It's not like they all move here from New York, I'd imagine most of them come from smaller cities if bought from abroad.

They've done well on cutting crime since their heyday, to be fair to them.
