Rangers are skint, they have an inferior team/squad compared to the hoops, Dave King is a shyster that'll promise Gerrard he'll get money to spend, but the only money going into Ibrox is the season ticket money and a pittance payment from the league and a small TV payment.
This isn't the Rangers of Walter Smith's era, they are a new brand since the liquidation of the oldco and are paupers by comparison.
Rodgers will be all diplomatic and full of praise for Gerrard is he takes the job, but inside Rodgers will be smiling through his gleaming white teeth.
Its investment that Rangers require not a big name no experience manager.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says they will support youth development coach Steven Gerrard in his managerial career.

Gerrard is the frontrunner to become the manager of Rangers and BBC Scotland has learned that the job is his if he wants it.

Me too, he'd be stupid to take it on, no money to compete with Celtic, power struggles in the boardroom, players that ain't frightened to stand up to their manager, and last but not least the religion issue which wouldn't come into play until it starts going tits up, then he'd see the real face of the Rangers support.


But as Gerrard doesn't read our posts on this site he'll probably sign sometime today.<laugh>

Gerrard isn't Catholic mate, it's a misconception because he went to Cardinal Heenan. He explains it in his book.

His dad and his paternal grandparents are RC, I knew his dad back when we were kids on the Bluebell Estate his dad and siblings went to St Augustine's RC school, my nan and grandad lived in the flats there, there was a C of E junior school a short distance from Stevie's house and I know he went there before Cardinal Heenan.
No doubt all that was looked into before the Rangers approach.

Their fans are also doing their homework on Gary Mac.
