They even got the date of the game right.

Not remotely surprising. The men in the ivory towers must have dreaded a Roma - Pool final so had to arrange it that the two proper giants played eachother in the Semis.

It's for the same reason that Atletico have to face Arsenal now. The prospect of a totally irrelevant Marseille - Salzburg final was too great a risk to take.

And for exactly the same reason we see every season that the top 4 or 5 are largely kept apart in the FA cup until the later stages. Because a Southampton - Leicester final interests no one aside from the fans of those teams.

I firmly believe that the only element of the draw that isn't rigged is which team plays at home first. There are 2 balls coated in bacon grease and it isn't clear which the paid-up pundit (usually and suspiciously someone with allegiances to a club still with a vested interest in the tournament) will pick first. Other than that, it's a sham.

The Roma website even got the home and away part right, as well as the day that they would be playing (Tuesday or Wednesday)! <laugh>

I don't know, the possibility of a Saltypool/Juve final has to have been much worse, given the time 39 Juventus fans killed themselves at Heysel...

Mainz were awarded a penalty at the end of the first half of their match against Freiburg

Wait, did I say at the end of the first half? I meant to say after the first half had ended...

Also see Fred, Bernard, Alan Patrick, Dentinho and Dodo, all of Shakhtar Donetsk.
From the dull and very English to the utterly ridiculous.

I hope this doesn't make me a pot hunting fan but......congratulations to Real Madrid for proving the pundits wrong v Bayern.
Good luck to them and I hope Gareth scores the winner in the final ( if they get there!)

Looks like Napoli have handed the Italian championship to Juventus. Hope they haven't been watching us!!!!!
