I, too, do not want my kids to be clones of me (poor bastards if that is what happened).
I'd question whether computer games are ok. They soon gravitate from Donkey Kong or Mario Bros, to becoming a sniper shooting some ****ers head off. Perhaps in moderation they are ok, but all the while they are sat in front of a screen playing such games, they lose social skills.

If that's the case, the same is true of reading or watching TV.
Like anything else it's just about balance. There's nothing wrong with doing any of this stuff providing there's a balance. When you see kids who have to be given an iPad to be entertained while out and about or something that seems a bit depressing, but that's a parenting issue rather than a technology one.
