That's consistent NZ. You have said elsewhere that you don't see relegation as a disaster.

I'm a cake and eat it person. I want us to beat Chelsea twice. 3 points and the Cup.

Of course, I also want:

West Ham players to take strike action on March 31 and so concede the match;

Man City to turn up on the last day with their under 8's;

Final proof of the existence of Father Christmas.

See that's the problem with young people today. Greedy.

I'm hopeful that we will stay up. Like Fats I'm not optimistic that we will make the finals.

The way I look at it is that the games are the wrong way round.

We have a Final against Chelsea (one of our 7 finals left) on the 14th, with a semi final against them the following week.

I think survival is worth more than a Cup if they are mutually exclusive. However, as survival becomes tougher (and I say that with resignation rather than despair) then I swing towards the Cup...though that is hardly a doddle either. Are we all gripping tight....this should be interesting (which is better than it looked before MP2 left).

Just reviewing this post: West Ham let me down; City's under 8's would beat us currently; Father Christmas is screwed.

No more wishes from me

To achieve either we will need to turn up and be ridiculously lucky more than one game in a row or put in a helluva shift and beat very good teams.

Just saying.

Might be a bit harder to do now after Chelsea v Spurs result! It’s looking like the Blues only way to the European big stage, then of course....,, it’s our only way too!!

Wow, yeah, Imagine our championship squad on the European big stage next year.

Wow, yeah, Imagine our championship squad on the European big stage next year.

Has happened with surprising frequency in recent years. Birmingham and Wigan were dumped in the group stage in 2011-12 and 2013-14, respectively. Pompey would have been a third such team in 2010-11, but they couldn't get a UEFA license.

Also, Chelsea is pretty well guaranteed their spot in Europe next year, with or without the FA Cup final. The FA Cup went to a team that already holds a European spot, and we're the only team remaining in the FA Cup that doesn't. Thus, at least the top six in the league will get Europey or better.
