Eoliennes?
Haha, it's been 6 years since I last spoke French (in school), if I try and think of anything in French, I can't do it, but I've picked up probably about a quarter of what you just said.
Yet I can remember this pretty much word for word: “Vous avez une chambre, monsieur?” – a view of the sea – “avec une douche.” “Oui, monsieur… c’est chambre 42, monsieur.” “42? Merci beaucoup. Hahaha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1sQkEfAdfY&feature=related
Hey Peadar and Potter Pistol, So much for the WUM'S who think that all Stoke fans are thick eh lads? Sorry, but I don't speak French only a little Spanish. So, Bonas Dias for now and Muchas gracias for your well written and interesting imput. I found your comments very erm, Can you translate it please?. Then we can all join in
Hey lads. What has everyone done today? I've not done much but i've had a bit of luck on the job front, it's not work or an apprenticeship but managed to sort a couple of months of work experience at the council which could leave to a paid apprenticeship.
Yeah, poor old me. @ Potterpistol, that's really funny mate, reminds me of when I learnt French, although it wasn't at school it was during my professional life. Made me wish I'd paid more attention at school......
Sgt I can't promise anything mate but!! I do know of a few jobs/positions at Man Airport mate? And, we do take on a few apprentices from time to time. Qualifications needed are at least 4 GCSE's and Grade B or higher. That would be working with the "Aircraft Maintainace Crew's" They also provide transport and good training is a cert Sgt. IF you have A levels and decent grades even better. IF you are interested, I will ask around.
Sgt And before you get too excited. I DON'T Pilot any Jumbo's, 737 airbus's or Boeings I just fix/repair/inspect and sometime's fly in them. So we know they will fly O.K. of course, if they don't we are the first to know about it.
Thanks for the offer Potts, but I didn't get anything higher than a C at GCSE level plus I've got my heart set on Admin work, it's the only thing I think i'd ever be able to make a living out of, so i'm going to do this work experience for a couple of months and hopefully that would lead to a paid apprenticeship, which is about 100 a week if I got it. Thank you very much for the offer though, very kind of you
Spent most of the day emailing off applications for work. I'm almost definitely going to be leaving Ireland. Who knows, maybe I'll end up within driving distance of Stoke!
So you're a born and bred Dubliner then Peadar? I've got family in Ireland, through my mother's side, they mostly live in Mallow, which is in Cork I believe.
Funny thihng is I have just looked on this thread to find a load of French! Confused me, but I do know a little. Haven't done much today, well done on the job thing Sarge.
I'm sort of on the edge of County Dublin, about 11 miles from the city centre. Most proper Dubs would say I was from outside the city. I've never been to Mallow, but you drive past it on the way to Cork. It could well be a very nice place! I think I mentioned this on 606 at some point, but my dad is a born and bred Stokie, who moved to Ireland when he married my mum. His job in England got Thatchered, so he found one over here.
