My England 1st 11 (currently fit)
Butland
Walker, stones, McGuire, Bertrand.
Dyer, Ali, , lingard, lallana.
Rashford, sterling
5 subs. Pickford, rose, Gomez, ox, vardy.

Plenty of pace, attacking, bit of experience, plenty of youth. Could go either way.
I'm going for quarters. Valiant defeat to someone good....Uruguay. History repeats itself with England.

I'd go for Mawson on the bench over Gomez. Think he could do better at a bigger club.

I didn't even know Jarrod was Welsh <doh>
That just shows how out of touch I'm becoming. ****ing depressing that.

Bowen's done amazingly well for us this season and to think he probably wouldn't have got the chance had we not been so short of players.

He isn't Welsh, but he qualifies through his parents or grandparents I think.

The OP has now been updated in full, with details of where all the players are traveling to.

Irvine could be up against Henriksen and Grosicki could be up against Aina.

It's a bit imbalanced and it'd be like having a man sent off in the first minute but we could field a team from our players away on international duty. I'm amazed that our current squad are thought worthy of representing their respective countries though. In fact all things considered, I'm disappointed not to get a call up myself.

I see Liam Kelly at Reading has turned down the chance to play for Ireland, waiting for an England call up.
Is this guy really good or something? Or are England really that ****?
I find this really bizarre that someone at Reading is waiting for an England call up.

It's almost like he wants to play for the nation he feels he belongs to.

Hart being **** is just the usual massively exaggerated, sensationalist stuff we get about England players. If he was foreign no one would talk about his form, but because he's England's number 1 he's under constant scrutiny and people are determined to find fault with him. He's barely ever let England down, which can't be said for many England keepers of the last couple of decades, and every little thing gets exaggerated into a massive howler. He was beaten by a Gareth Bale free kick, who smashes them in the corner against every ****er and the reaction was it was all Hart's fault. That goal the other day was at worst a minor error in failing to keep hold of an awkwardly bouncing shot. Hardly going to make it onto any 'howler' compilation videos, but because it's Hart it's made out as if he chucked it in his own net or something. Butland did literally that the other week but strangely there's no rage about him in the squad. Because it's not as trendy to criticise the number 2 who plays for a smaller club. Hart is just the latest in a long line. Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Beckham, Terry. Whoever is the most established and high profile is always the one people want rid of and seek to find fault with.

I’m not judging him on England performances, I’m judging him on club performances. You know, the basis for a call-up. And he’s been ****ing ****e for about 5 years, and was only ever average for his entire career before then.

But taking your point about ‘if he was foreign no one would talk about his form’ and it being ‘trendy’ to knock him, let’s take the words of the Torino president, who is foreign to Hart and won’t be following any trend:

“We probably didn’t expect so many mistakes”.

Hart’s snivelling comments about Southgate are pathetic.

‘He’s always said my performances for him have been good and I think he’s a loyal sort of guy’.

He needs to give his head a shake coming out with bollocks like that.
