'I'll only leave for a top 4 side, i love this club'

Must have meant last season Championship Top 4.

Going to QPR is a deffo backward step for Barton. His agent did well though.

They won't though Jersey, that's the problem.

He's had the Toon fans sucked in with all his talk, not the fact he's gone, but going to QPR is bullshit, they aren't 20% of the club our beloved neighbours are.

Could have ****ed off a week earlier the twat.

Anyone else think that graphic Sky use of him with the Tash looks like the guy out of those old porn movies from the 50s and 60s.

If I was a Mag I would be very worried with Barton gone they are looking very weak in MF.

Sess showed how over rated Tiote was and apart from one shot Cabaye was mediocre.

i am and that is why i hate badge kissing players as they are no different from the money grabbers it's all about the money but by kissing the badge they think we're fooled <doh> why the **** they believe this is beyond me and blaming ashley is the easiest way to get the fans on side which imo shows a lack of respect as the club stood by him when no one would piss on him if he was on fire.
to be honest there isn't a person on here wouldn't leave their current job if offered more money so why do players think we believe that ****e,loyalty in football died the day Jimmy the chin hill did away with the set wage trouble is he did it for the right reasons just the modern day footballer exploits it to his end (look at tevez has he been at a club for more than 2 yrs? before he cries about not liking the area etc.and gets a move)

he's played the club and the fans but not all of us were fooled ...good riddance

Joey Barton. The ultimate twitter liar. If he really wanted to stop he had every right to. Ashley and Llambias might want rid of him but Pardew obviously wanted him to stop and would have played him week in week out.

I think he may have been very clever indeed. Lied and made it seem like he was desperate to stay so that: A) He would look like he was pushed rather than he walked. B) A right to demand more money from QPR.

Not going to lie Its a sad day today and I think we're losing a massive influence both on the pitch and in the dressing room and we're running out of true leaders on the pitch.

Having said that though it will be nice watching a game without worrying about him getting into a daft scrap etc....

Even though hes clearly rehabilitated himself in the last 2 years I still couldn't shake the feeling that hes a ticking time bomb... silver linings and all that.

Thought I'd put my two cents in over here because the Newcastle board is in meltdown today, cant get a word in edgeways :)

I can't believe he's actually went to QPR. From 50,000 geordies every week to 15,000 fans at Loftus Road. It's such an embarrassing step down.

Oh well, just another money-hungry footballer and FINALLY someone elses problem.

Don't agree with this mate, mid field is our strongest position. Weaker without Barton, definitely but it's early doors yet and nothing is clicking at the minute.

Tiote seems to be low on fitness due to fasting during ramadan. Other than that he's a rock. Cabaye is also getting better and better in every game.

With Tiote and the development of Cabaye, we could definitely have one of the best centre midfields in the league. Jonas is coming on strong and Marveaux looks like a great player even after not playing a competitive match since last year.

Worried? Not at all. Joey will be a big miss, but considering that we only ever really used him as a winger, there are dedicated wingers capable of taking his position and racking up the same, if not more, assists and goals.

never wanted him anyway liability and all that

seriously though i think cabaye was brought in a ready made replacement our midfield is quite strong so he won't be missed as much as people make out and in response to mackemsrule tiote is muslim so taking part in ramadan so won't be at his best.

Not Wumming mate I honestly think it.

I have said previously if Barton could get his **** together he could do a job for England.
Cabaye may yet prove me wrong, but you were all raving about Tiote.
Tiote looked very very poor in the derby.

Of all our recent losses of players, I think this one will prove to be the most important, but it will only be clearly seen as such at the end of the season.

Both Tiote and Demba Ba are fasting for Rhamadan which would massively effect performance.

But even if they weren't its early days and we already know Tiote can deliver the goods consistently as he did in 90% of his games last season, I'm really not too worried about our midfield even with Barton gone, I think we'll miss his passion on the field more than anything else.

Our strongest midfield 5 of Jonas Tiote Ben Arfa Cabaye Marveaux is still more than capable of a top 10 finish IMO, just a shame about our strikers and fullbacks.

In my opinion Barton is a horrible obnoxious tit which is probably why he fitted in so well up the road...I think going to a friendly club like QPR will prove to be a big mistale for him...

Not going to get into any argument about some archaic religious claptrap.
But as far as I know they only have to fast during daylight hours.
Which during 40 years of work I have done as a matter of course, being a builder. (Numerous cups of tea aside. :p)

So please don't use Ramadan as an excuse.
They aren't starving themselves for the whole month or there would be a lot of dead muslims.

Unless it's because he can't shag their lass of course.
