I would advise all of you not to move your heart onto someone else. It's like expecting a bike for your birthday and not even getting a card.
Reading down this thread, there's a fair few posters with transfer bid fever. Look peeps, just calm down. If we don't sign another player at all, we have enough. If a player becomes available that we like the look of, and he doesn't fall outside our pay scheme, then fine. Just don't get yourselves worked up so. Saints will be fine. Goodness gracious, you'd think the Titanic was about to sink again.
If MK Dons spend that money wisely in the next 5 days and in january, I have no doubt they will go up.
Disappointing , but certainly not the end of the world. We are doing fine at the moment, so maybe all we actually need is a few loan signings as back up (won't happen until the Prem teams announce their 25 man squads though)
On SSN, MK Dons rejected further offer for Baldock. Prices are getting silly now...mind you, why should they sell if they don't want to..we can have sympathy with that.
I know Lambert was older but he cost 1 million and is better than baldock by a country mile, so don't get too downbeat guys!
I'm sorry but i don't agree with all this stuff about west ham being bigger than us stuff, they aint a big club that win things, they are like the rest of us outside of the top 5or 6 clubs in the country - (a club wanting to do well but in reality will probably only be a midtable club in the prem or maybe just be good enough for the europa league places) How anyone can say they're a better proposition is beyond me! Someone said they have a great stadium,a great fanbase and a great manager, well we have all those too! No this is gonna come down to one thing and that is money, that's the way football is now and it pisses me off to be franK but i must add that i don't want saints breaking the bank for these kind of players because that's what gets clubs in trouble and none of us want that again! Just please sign someone soon saints because i want some of the excitement that the other clubs are having
no you blithering idiot, dont you know anything? Magilton was in charge of the Titanic and its course was fine, for some reason he was thrown overboard and after a couple of captains they now have Paul Jewell at the helm - he says they have hit an iceberg but their passengers are at least having their lifeboats paid for them by the company to make up for their sinking.
I think people are just more aware to them due to the Media Circus they always get, and the way they get talked up. If a player studied it he would see more coverage of WHU. Players careers thrive on coverage, so WHU is a tasty proposition for most. Couple that with being offered silly wages, who can blame him.
Just shows there are gems out there waiting their chance. In Adkins we have a manager who can get the best out of players. In reply to saintadam, one thing we can be sure of is that Cortese will never bankrupt us just to beat another team to purchase a player.
I would have really liked to sign Baldock, but there will be other prospects out there, and I am sure that Nigel and Nicola will take their time. Look at Leicester, brought loads in early doors, and are now wanting certain players when they already have loads of other players who on reflection they may not have signed earlier on.
No you can't blame him for taking the better money but there is no way that i think west ham is a better proposition,at the end of the day west ham won't achieve anything more in the game than we will, just because they're a london club doesn't automatically mean they are big,if they struggle in the league this season and we carry on what we are doing do you think they will still get more positive coverage than us?
Agree, we've always had a good transfer record - when was the last time we bought a flop (apart from Puncheon - although he had attitude problems) ?
