100%. But I don’t think he’d come. Strange how some are against Silva because Everton turned his head, but would happily nick Jokanovic from Fulham!

I feel that the new man’s first job is to try and improve the players fitness.

I think we have looked slow all season. Explains the lacklustre second halves.

Potter is far too much of a risk.

HAS to be Silva. He made a mistake with Everton, but I still view us as a far more attractive prospect. Chuck in a healthy bonus for keeping us up too.

    Head says Hughes though...

Jeremy Wilson of the Telegraph saying we want someone with PL experience, but not looking likely to be Silva. Please not Hughes either...

Because he is a bang average manager, who’s sides play mundane football. He oversaw the slow decline of Stoke, so I’m not sure he would take us forward. He hasn’t exactly pulled up trees anywhere.
Still, better than Pellegrino, and would keep the prima donnas in check.

"Not planning to go for Marco Silva" means "Marco Silva wants nothing to do with this dumpster fire", I presume.

Yeah, not remotely interested in AVB or Tuchel either. We need someone who has successfully managed to guide one of our rivals into the same position we are in now.

Of the front running names mentioned for the role I think my pick would be Graham Potter. We aren't going to get a superstar in and the chances of us staying up are very tight. If Potter failed to do that I think he would be the right man to oversee our championship campaign and look at getting us back to the PL.

I really dont want to see Billic or Hughes here on long term contracts.

He made stokes decline very slow as he made the transition from effective hoofball to (slightly more) entertaining football with a ltd squad.

I don’t think he is what we need for where we (the fans) want to be. But he may be the best available manager with PL experience to rally the team. And he may be the choice for where the board want us to be.

Hughes will knock some bloody heads together. I want that so badly. He's not scared to play attacking football either. I'd be happy with him.

Its all about survival and not about long term planning for the moment. So Hughes is the likely choice. Not a candidate for the long term, but maybe that's not so important anymore. I think our ship has sailed on us being a top eight team with the player sell-offs and the limitations of our current Board. He might be a manager that can keep us in 12-14 place for a couple of seasons to give us some stability. Thereafter, who knows.

The Board left it too late and left us in such a precarious position that finding someone stupid enough to take on the job is a big ask. Well done Les and the Board.

Whoever takes the job needs 100% support from the fans, as do the players.

    Roberto Mancini at 22/1. Interesing!
Now that's a guy to get us playing, up to our potential.

Potter over Hughes, even if it means relegation to be honest.
