Can you honestly say Folan would get in the positions Fryatt does and finish the chance he had last night! No, absolutely not, end of argument then IMO!

I've heard he's been asked to work on one of concourse kiosks on matchdays and he's currently on a training course, where he'll learn the proper way to pretend you can't understand anything that anyone says to you, while moving unnaturally slowly..

I wonder how many tickets Caleb gets for parking his car over the line.. loads probably...

Can Folan do a job for us? Critically speaking he does have sth the other forwards lack - height... but in practice Mclean would probably beat him in a heading competition.. so his days are numbered..

...what gibberish is this!!??......firstly those who deny Folan's heart and bravery I have only to remind you of his 1st and last games for the club (not to mention the injuries in-between)....he spent the night in hospital in Blackpool after being head butted as he went to win a header and away at Barnsley he was clattered by their keeper after he won the ball and hit the bar...do not posters travel to away games!?....and let's put to bed this myth of offside...our biggest failure over recent years has been the lack of creativity and service from midfield....Folan does not stand offside...he is one of the quickest members of our squad...he is caught offside precisely because midfielders cannot or do not anticipate or look for his runs...a good example of how it worked properly was last season away at Pompey fo his2 nd goal(presumably missed by said same posters).....some may wish to abuse the lad but please don't denigrate his achievements for our club....

Yes, most of us do travel away and Folan is just as **** away as he is at home! I can't believe there is even a debate as to whether or not he could do a job for us, he is one of the worst excuses for a centre forward anyone has ever wasted £1million on! He's just behing Billy Paynter in the ****test Hull City forwards of all time!

You should be trying to get fit for our run-in Caleb, not posting on forums.

...gibberish is in abundance I see....was not Folan signed at the beginning of our promotion year?....and were not his 9 goals that season, most of them points winning goals, instrumental in getting us promotion to the premier league?....there you go again denying Folan's achievements....are you a fan of Hull City?...or are you just an unhappy person.....

Tigga777 I think you're on your own here. No-one is denying or belittling Caleb's contribution during the promotion season, he was a great supersub back then. However, his performances since have been poor to say the least. His contribution in games has been minimal and attitude appallling - his lack of effort / visible signs that he actually cares is what bothers me the most. Players form changes and over the last couple of years Caleb's has taken a serious turn for the worse.

I've been a season ticket holder for 18 years thanks, I've seen many strikers come and go in that time and Folan is definitely one of the worst. It doesn't matter what he may have contributed in the past, he's scored 3 goals since that season, this thread was about what he could bring to the team now and my, and most others opinion is nothing at all.
This is the 3rd time I've said it, Calen Folan will never ever ever ever play for Hull City again!!

worst strikers would have to be David Brown, Clint Marcelle, Steve McPhee & Amr Zaki.. it's harsh to say Folan is worse than these and he did score the winner vs Fulham in our first ever PL tie..

I reckon he could still do a job for us too. How about as a server in the East Stand concourse, the service is atrocious there.

    You forgot Billy Paynter.

Folan is permanently injured, usually just in his head, he can't jump, he can't stay onside and though he did contribute in our promotion season, he's not good enough now, he's rarely available and he hasn't a prayer of being with us next season.

And I have seen him play once or twice

Think he means another David Brown. Sure there was another. One you are referring to was OK.

That was Andy Brown. Truly truly awful. Other than being the worst striker ever in a city shirt I remember him for 2 things:

    1. Scoring from the halfway line with a ridiculous lob. Did I dream this??

    2. Going in goal when the keeper (Fettis or Wilson) got injured and having a blinder.

We sold him to a lower division club in Scotland, can't remember which.

He'll probably cause multiple flapping spillages and then close the kiosk early by not looking down the line.

Yes, 9 goals in our promotion season but doesn't 3 goals in almost two years afterwards not ring alarm bells in your head? And as for this nonsense about justifying folans ariel ability cos he got injured a couple of times is ridiculous. If your paying someone who's not very talented £1,000's a week your telling me you wouldn't want them to go challenge for headers or hold the ball up? Like a target man should. The real question is, have you actually been to a game since then? Judging by your Folan bashing, clearly not.
