They should have shot him dead. Terrible news again regarding guns in America. RIP to all the victims.

If only there were more good men with guns eh? No surprise anymore though, if 'Sandy Hook' couldn't change the mentality, nothing could.

    This is terribly sad.

It’s also a worry that schools in the US basically allow anybody to just wander around their grounds at most points during the day. Severe lack of security.

Compare that to our schools which have most external doors locked with fob and key. Ours also have lock down procedures in place in case of something like this happening.

****ing sick of this. If these ****s feel the world has been cruel to them, if they feel they've been hard done to, the world's an evil place, why add to it?

Just turn that gun on yourself, you ****ing 'evil' ****.

Sorry for the language I used here.

I've yet to see a good reason for normal citizens in America to own a firearm. A single one and I've asked hundreds. Most of them say "it's our right."

So those people would rather legally be allowed to have one "just in case" than have less shootings like this. Funny how we don't have guns and don't have mass shootings a billion times a year.

It’s just a pointless argument. They’ll never ever see sense, they’ll never adopt meaningful gun control and they’re happy with it. So let them live with the consequences.

Might sound harsh but if the groundswell of public opinion doesn’t change after dozens of these incidents each year then it never will.

There is something to be said for that harsh as it may sound. IF they were ever to introduce some form of gun control it would only affect the honest law abiding citizens, the baddies can still get and use guns even in countries where they are completely banned.

But the bullets would be much harder to come by.

I’ve just heard it’s the 18th or 19th (don’t get this confusion) school shooting there this year alone. We’re on the 15th Feb. Just the one every 2 and a half days then...

I've said it before, but Sandy Hook was the one where it should've all changed.

If you're not willing to bring in laws after ****ING CHILDREN are massacred, you'll never do it.

I've always loved the argument of "you can't take our guns away, it's in the constitution!", mainly because both slavery and prohibition were also in the constitution at one point. They have no clue what the word 'amendment' means.

This is America. If the change laws it won't be to ban guns like any right minded person would, it will be to ensure all children are issued with a gun at age 5 so that they can defend themselves against such attacks.

Just started to read a link on this, but didn’t realise it was the Daily Mail at first

Coverage was ****ing appalling. Videos from children’s phones trapped in classrooms, with captions along the line of (you can hear the children’s screams but as the gunfire starts one girls screams are cut short)
And one video clearly showing a bleeding body, which was shaded out, but helpfully they highlighted where you could click to watch the full uncut video

I turned it off then, but had to check it was a UK news source as at first I assumed it was from the States...but no, it was ‘our’ trusty rag

I’m not posting the link for obvious reason

I ****ing despair with the mawkish ****s

I'm pretty certain nobody has ever used the word 'trusty' to describe the Daily Fail.

Can just not understand why when in mortal danger some people start filming or taking selfies. They are the modern day brainwashed.
