My Bro in law's son lives in Wisconsin too so that may be the reason.(But he and his wife are estranged,if that is the word, but living in the same house with their son and sharing expenses!)

Deulofeu allegedly in loan deal from Barca to Watford.
So that is the second PL club he has been to in the past 4 years.

    Liverpool to Watford via Barcelona

That's what happens when you book via Ryanair.

    Lucky b'stard:

"My life is 24 hours talking about football. For me it is every conversation, every action. It is my life, my passion.

It is the way that I find to enjoy life. For me, family and football are the most important things, they are in the same level.

It isn't easy to find a balance, but I am lucky because my family also loves football. "

Now I know what to look for in a woman, it's a bit late now though, all the women in my life hate football. Why didn't my dad give me that advice when I was young? He only ever told me "never marry a woman with big hands, they make your cock look silly"

I'll let him off for being a Game of Thrones fan but interesting that Toni J sees him as Jon Snow. Is that because Poch thinks he knows everything but actually knows nothing? Or because he is the anti-hero, an outcast bringing down the corrupt elite? Methinks the latter.

    1. Jon Snow is not an anti-hero.

    2. I would say in his day job he is akin to Jon Snow, in that he is :

    - the least flawed of the protagonists (arrogance, entitlement etc)

    - doing the best he can, in the right way, for the right reasons,
with the resources he has to hand.

That probably means something very different now.
Some reference to drugs or music or both...

RIP Dennis Edwards of The Temptations. He joined the group in '68 and was the lead voice on 'Papa Was a Rolling Stone' [and many others] which, on its own, makes him a god in my eyes. This year is taking a heavy toll already.

    Thanks for the memories. <rose>

I liked the article. I've been thinking some of the same thoughts. I'd say I was mystified by the run of comments, but after a moment I realized most football posters will post something other than their usual dross when pigs fly.

The article wasn't essentially about Spurs at all, I thought. It was about the fact that the traditional route to the top for clubs which aren't there now seems to be blocked. Instead of hoping for a brilliant manager and front office who can create great teams from modest resources, practically minded fans of, say, Everton, ought to hope someone of vast means--or, better yet, the representative of a nation of vast means--will decide to buy the club and inject it with huge sums of cash. While that may have little impact on adults' passion for the game, it's all too likely to turn off future fans. Money has always been a factor in the game, but the race for major trophies has never looked so much like an auction. And there's no end in sight.

What sort of fun is it if a league title is determined by a petrokingdom's decision to strengthen its brand?
