I also live in Spain. The guy that runs our local Madrid bar is well connected. He says that although most fans would like Poch as the manager (which club wouldn’t) they accept that it will not happen in the near future unless, as Poch has said several times, Levy has a really bad night and sacks him. He wants to stay at Spurs to complete his project which is not yet halfway through. I think he is fully aware what happen to managers at Madrid even if they win multiple Champions Leagues. He does not seem to have the short-termism attitude of Mourinho and similar managers. I think that he will stay as long as Levy still runs the club.
You know and I know there will never be glory for him in the UK - there would be here as manager of RM. Having played for city rivals Espanyol he will never manage Barca - RM will be relentless in their pursuit of him, the momentum is definitely there and if Poch goes, so too will Kane - perhaps not to RM but he would most certainly leave while Spurs implode
If Pochettino goes, half the squad will. Lloris is on record as saying he is happy while Mauricio is the manager. Vertonghen would probably go. Alderweireld may sign if Pochettino is still here, as well as Harry and Dele as you say.
insecurity noun 1. uncertainty or anxiety about oneself; lack of confidence. 2. the state of being open to danger or threat; lack of protection. 2. the feeling that overcame glazerfodder when Man Utd signed off on the financial time bomb that is extending the Portuguese Peter Griffin's contract, hence their sudden urge to talk about other clubs' managers leaving
I like your point 2 - both of them. I'm happy for JM to stay - who else is there (apart from Poch) Not sudden, read back through my previous posts
No.Poch won't leave for RM.....yet,if ever. RM are pot hunters and if you don't have a resume of winning something, you ain't wanted!...and that's the truth of it......but tell your bar man to keep those beers coming!
If you read the article and are not just tempted by the click bait headline, it is not as cut and dried as you would imply. Whilst it does indeed say that Poch is the current presidents number 1 choice it also states that the strength of his bond with Levy and the club and also the fact that no get out clause was inserted in his last contract would make it very difficult for Madrid to get him if Levy wants him to stay and that is almost certainly the case at the moment.
BBC trying desperately to push the ‘Poch going to RM’ narrative. Stating that he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of moving there, despite the fact that all Poch did was specifically state that under no circumstances would he go to Barca or the Goons - or clubs in Argentina that were the rival of his own clubs. In fact he states his plan is too stay for the long haul and that it would be DL who would change that! Clickbait headlines!!
Excellent comment on BBC feed..... ‘I am devastated at his comments. He will never manage Barca or Arsenal because of his ties with Espanyol and Spurs, but has not ruled out managing Portsmouth despite him being an ex Southampton Manager!!! Is he lining up a move to Fratton Park?’
Like we imploded after our DoF and Carrick left in 2006 (which was widely predicted)? That implosion saw us come 5th again the following season (matching our season with Carrick) Or like we imploded when Berbatov and Keane left in 2008 (we blipped for half a season before getting top 4 in the second season)? Or like when we imploded having lost Modric and Bale where we came 5th, 6th, 3rd and 2nd in the following 4 seasons?
There's always elite coach Jurgen Norbert Klopp, who for some reason the clickbait mongers never seem to link with other jobs - and we are not supposed to find this in any way suspicious.
Glazefodder is a wum and not really worth our efforts to talk to him. He obviously believes any old nonsense if he think it suits his agenda . He equates blogs with truth and press stories with information. A sad case of an expat old soak.
Try not to let your (erroneous) preconceptions and prejudices blind you to the truth of the fact that this 'Poch to RM' is no 'bar -room' story - the mainstream sporting press have it, and it is not going to go away. RM have started down their well-trodden path - first they sow the seed of a story, then they fuel the rumours until they get their man - the same for Poch as for any player they have previously targeted. The only way this will go away is when Poch flatly denies the story - he didn't.
