It was odd when mentioned that we'd only offered 1 year.
1. Surely it would be 6 months or 18 months?
2. He's already got a contract for 6 months.
Yeah we wouldn’t offer him a 1 year deal, you’d suspect it was a 1 year extension.

From what was said on the HDM site it was a one year extension.
Cos it's all rumours.Cheers. Not sure why that would infuriate him.
Personally I don't blame Dawson but I'm glad he's here until the end of the season as we really need options and cover at least. However, is it just me or is the way Karanka is speaking about a player still at another club more that a bit classless?
“We were disappointed. I know Michael for many years. He is a captain that many people would like to have,” said Karanka. “We were trying; we know how pleased he was to come here.
“But sometimes the other party does not want it to happen and we could not do any more to make it happen."
“I have to keep working, because he would have been a massive addition. He is a good player and let’s see what is happening.
“It is something we could revisit in the summer, yes. He is a good player who is going to be free at the end of the season.
“He is a proper captain, so we will see what happens in the summer.”
Michael Dawson should do what's best for him but now he's staying as long as he keeps giving 100% and helps keep us up (and I have no doubt that he will, it just seems to be his nature) then it should be win/win
We shall see. I think you're right but...Whatever happened yesterday, Michael Dawson will give his all if he can.
He's a professional and he's a Dawson.
We shall see. I think you're right but...
Definitely been playing for a contract. Was injured quite a lot in the other three seasons
He'll probably get another injury shortly. It's sods law.
I doubt it we've been really lucky with avoiding injuries last few seasons.

Do we think Daws will do a Mahrez!!!!..![]()
Dawson maybe thought the same as you and everyone else that any offer from Forest would be accepted, which it wasn't. I don't know how he came to be in Nottingham and not at the sham event, if indeed he was invited at all, but at his age and at this time in his career he is bound to be tempted by a longer contract even if it did mean moving clubs. Or perhaps he'd seen his backside because City were bringing on another centre half and thought he was surplus to requirements ?
Either was it doesn't sound like the ideal scenario if any of this has some truth attached to it but what does remain and cannot be doubted is that Dawson is still a Hull City player and hopefully he will honour the rest of his contract and City did not sell him to the first club that made an enquiry.
ADKINS SPEAKS ABOUT DEADLINE DAY
Nigel Adkins is looking forward to leading his squad into the remainder of the season after making two new additions on deadline day.
Having stated his intention to strengthen in the middle of defence and out wide, Adkins brought in centre back Angus MacDonald from Barnsley and winger Harry Wilson on loan from Liverpool ahead of the transfer window closing and the Head Coach is delighted with the quality of his new recruits.
“We are delighted with both new additions,” said Adkins.
“Angus was the captain at Barnsley and he’s at a good age (25). He can play as either a right-sided or left-sided centre-half and we’re excited to have him here. He’s a good character and he has good ability, so we’re pleased to bring him to Hull City to be a part of this good group that we have here.
“We then managed to bring Harry in. He’s the youngest player to play for Wales at senior level and he’s the captain of the U23 team at Liverpool where he trains with the first team. He’s a talented player and we wanted to bring in another wide player to add to the balance of our squad.
“Harry’s a very exciting young prospect.
“I’m pleased that we have strengthened in both of those positions. We’re looking to generate competition for places in every position, and we still have players to come back from injury which is important.
“The spirit, the togetherness, the pride, the passion to wear our shirt is there and that bodes well for the remainder of the season and beyond because we’re building for next season as well.”
Just as important as the new additions was the fact that there were no departures ahead of the deadline, despite late suggestions of a move by Nottingham Forest to sign captain Michael Dawson.
“We’ve kept all of our existing players and that is massively important,” continued Adkins.
“From my point of view, and I’ve said this to Michael and to everybody, he is our captain and we want him to be here. My stance on that has been perfectly clear throughout. He’s a leader for us, he’s a captain and he’s a very good football player.
“For me, there was no way that we wanted him to leave. Conversations go on behind the scenes, but that is not my department. I have a lot of time for Michael, a lot of respect for him and I’m really pleased that he is still with us.”
Forgive if I'm being naive but a 'proper captain' wouldn't jump ship when we're in deep relegation trouble.
I thought Dawson was made of sterner stuff. Although in his defence we don't know what sort of crap he's had to put up with behind the scenes.
Maybe the bastards have just worn him down.
I very much doubt that Bowen would have wanted to stay as opposed to moving to Everton for example (I think that was the brief rumour)Why would Bowen sulk? He wanted to stay.
Why would Dawson sulk? He's a professional and should know better.
