Agreed - I feel sorry for those who can cheer him one week and ridicule him the next week... whatever your age it - comes down to a lack of maturity... quite sad really that they 'vent their spleen' over someone talented and appears to be an all-round good natured lad.
Why are you guys getting so uppity about people disagreeing with you? You seem to have already formed a little "us against the other saints fans" band of brothers. Tone it down.
Seriously; how can anyone hate any footballer?
A certain 'hand of god' Argentinian (cannot bring myself to write his name) still, to this day, annoys me for all the accolades he got for being a great footballer even IMO he is a cheat, blasphemer and coke-head!
But hate - you really do need some help if you hate Oxo.
We haven't started a " band of brothers" as u say. We have an opinion and you have yours. But for some reason yours is right and ours is wrong. And now because of that we are little school kids!
How anyone can cheer a bloke one week and totally dislike him the next is a mystery. I agree with those that say he went about things wrong, I also agree his father is a total ****** to boot. Whether or not the move is the right one will depend on his development from here. He was good for us there is no doubt about it. He did contribute quite a lot to our promotion. The guy deserves credit for that. You all have to accept that people do have different ideas and different preferences. He used Southampton to further his career it is no different to you guys taking on a job to do the same. Just think of the school, college you went to.....if you had had a chance to take your degree there or perhaps an alternative was Cambridge or Oxford would you have stayed? would you not want to go to a better place.........Now we come to that decision making process yet again....now or later. What ever happens now there is no going back.......he shouldn't be reviled because he didn't choose to stay. He made the decision and that's that. I personally think it wasn't the right one........but I guess I would say that as I'm kind of biased.........What about you?
At last someone who doesn't just hurl insults.I don't really care what happens to his future but that is simply because of the way it all unfolded,i have no malice towards him or indeed do i rarely think about him now,all i wanted was for him and his dad to show a bit of respect to the club that i love,i think that's the least the saints deserved for 10 years of helping him move along in his career,he used our facilities, our coaches, our management team and probably a lot more and when i saw him in the papers that day i just lost all the fondness i had for him, maybe it's just my over-thinking about the situation but it really really irritated me and i find it hard that any fan wouldn't of been disappointed in him,but each to their own,we're all different but i think it's harsh to get called a kid because you have a valid opinion, you may of noticed it really gets my back up haha.
I'll second that
Of course you will. You and him trying to create a faux sense of vulnerability.
While I'm in the camp of he went about it poorly but I wish him well and have no harsh feelings towards him (Infact I'm rather hoping he comes on for arsenal tonight itv1 for anyone who's interested). This board at the moment is a bit daft and the way posters are throwing childish insults at saint adam and co in this thread and in others is stupid, if you don't agree say so constructively without the petty and incredibly unfunny "when do the holidays end" or just don't say anything at all! I believe we did a poll a while back and at least half this board is under 20 so lay off with the ageism![]()
Ironic thing is neither me or Saint Adam are under 20
