dont share your opinion either soton saint. This is football FFS, this sort of thing happens all the time, and for what Oxo contributed whilst he was here and for the income and attention he brought to the club i thank him and wish him well. Its not a marriage (youre not married to him are you?). Its football - you are all screaming for new players to sign for saints and dont care about their loyalty to previous clubs. and as it works both ways ie the club can decide a players future i dont remember seeing a thread when pulis had his contract with the club terminated saying we must keep him out of loyalty. so there you go its football life so move on - players come players go whatever way they go about it.
Nor will I. In fact, I find it utterly bloody ridiculous that people bother writing a thread stating... Let's All Laugh... It isn't remotely funny. The lad was advised to make the wrong decision, and so everyone lost, except Saints scored a load of dosh they didn't really need. Which was the plus in the whole deal. Never mind. We'll carry on without him, and he'll warm a subs bench for the foreseeable future instead of showing everyone why he is known as an exciting youngster with exceptional potential.
Maybe he went about things the wrong way. But I blame his dad more than him. At the end of the day hes only a nipper and is gonna look up to his dad for advice however bad it might be. So I wish him well, and hope the saints get another windfall when Arsenal sell him on for mega bucks. Because the way his dad is, he'll be trying to talk him into leaving to join a Man city or Barcelona as soon as he makes a impact for the gunners and his value goes right up.
I find it quite amusing that arsenal 3-1 up on aggregate away from home in Europe for 30 mins, and he still can't get on the pitch....
He's almost certainly had relentless pressure from his dad, the press and his agent to make this move, and I actually respected the fact that he tried to be honest in the press rather than coming out with the usual garbage about loyalty etc etc when we (should) all know how rare loyalty actually is in football. The fact is that he wanted to make the move and he did what he needed to to nudge the events in the right direction. Some people may feel he disrespected the club, but at worst all he did in my eyes was slightly weaken our bargaining position - if the reported figures are correct we have nothing to worry about but who can honestly say they know the figures or any other events? My reaction is that I think he's made the wrong choice, and we are probably in a stronger position as a result. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing but don't want to "laugh at him" for the way he's now apparently "suffering" for his decisions - I respect the opinions of those who do, but I disagree with their method of doing so (or as you would put it "the way you went about it"). I don't hate you for it, but just find it a bit hypocritical to at one stage be slagging someone off for their actions in what some might consider a childish fashion and then chastising someone else for doing the exact same thing back at you (NB this is not directed at saintadam - I just think you're a bit highly strung . I hope Alex does well, as it's nice to see good football and I think he still is a good footballer. To be fair though, while it'll be good to learn from Arsenal's good attacking players, I think he'll be missing the opportunity to practice against good defenders in training!!
It's terrible for him. If I were Chambo, I'd be angling for a loan move if he can't even get on in a no-pressure situation.
If we all need someone to hate, what about Oscar Gobern? He rejected a new contract and buggered off in worse circumstances than chambo... What an idiot!
Some of the posts on here have really surprised me in their harshness. I just don't understand people's nasty comments about Chambo - I mean it's not like he joined Pompey is it, let's face it.
