Arsenal as per usual messing around in the transfer market haggling with Dortmund over Aubamayang.

The 60 million that Dortmund have asked for is relatively cheap in today's market but Arsenal only want to pay 50.

With the Dzeko deal looking unlikely for Chelsea now, Chelsea are now looking at Giroud.

But Arsenal are reluctant to let Giroud leave for Chelsea, unless they get in a replacement.

The answer to Chelsea's search for a striker looks simple to me, put the 60 million pounds on the table for Aubamayang.

This is Chelsea we're talking about though.

Most backward transfer policy in the world for a big club.

I'm guessing the main reason they are not going for him, is that they aren't looking for a replacement for Morata, they are looking for a back up when Morata is having a rest. As Morata has shown so far that he's not fit enough to play every game.

If they bought Aubamayang they couldn't buy him as a back up striker with the price he'd cost and the wages he'd earn, he'd have to be a first team regular. So I'm guessing that's the reason Chelsea are looking at cheaper options.

I still do think Morata is a quality player, despite some of his poor form recently. Though I also think Aubamayang is a class act to, and should be looking to play at a higher level than Arsenal.

Agreed about the Dortmund fella and Arsenal. I do think Dzeko would be a decent player to compete with Morata but on the whole their squad is looking the poorest it has for years imo. With Conte likely to leave in the Summer too it will be interesting to see their manager and line up next season as they're in need of a pretty big overhaul really.

Pretty much the same team minus costa and matic.

A few of us said in the Summer just how big Costa was for you but a lot of Chelsea fans didn't see it.

don't think he would have made that much of a difference in all honesty.

Scrappy but in the 2nd half of the season he was proper off it whilst he was amazing in the first half.

Think its more conte is very much first 11, run them into the ground type of manager and he may improve if he sees out next year (doesn't look like it) but i think all these games have caught up + his 3-4-3 hasn't surprised teams this year.

Yeah I think Dzeko is quality too, and Giroud would probably do well there aswell. Morata has scored more headers this season than he's ever scored, which tells you Chelsea as a team are crossing a lot, I'm guessing that's the reason they want a tall striker who's good in the air like Dzeko.

Yeah I don't think their squad is looking to great at the moment, a lot of their best players are approaching 30, and they don't have the young players in their squad like we do. So sooner or later they are going to need a big overhaul.

I think the likes of Dzeko, Giroud or even Aubamayang are only really short term fixes. I think long term they are really going to have to spend big again to keep themselves as genuine title contenders in the future.

Real Madrid are being linked with Pochettinho, but with him being under contract with Spurs, he will be very difficult to get. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Conte at Real Madrid next season.

Agree with pretty much all of that but can Chelsea afford to spend big with the stadium in the pipeline too? They certainly haven't be spending as much recently net as they did previously under Roman.

Disagree that Real Madrid will find it hard to get Poch (if they indeed want him, I still have doubts), if they come in he'll know that he can't turn it down and will be off in a flash imo.

I think the advantage you had last season of not being in the Champions League shouldn't be underestimated.

Sides often suffer from a lack of motivation after winning the title too, that's what makes it so tough to defend.

Fully expect Chelsea to spend, and bounce back big time.

He's under contract at Tottenham, so Real Madrid would have to persuade Daniel Levy to effectively sell him to them.

If Levy refuses to agree a compensation fee with Real Madrid, there is nothing Poch can do to get out of his contract with Tottenham.

Only one way to find out... Still think he needs to develop a plan B personally.

I personally think he'd be better off giving one more year with Spurs in the new ground and then trying to take over from Mourinho at United who despite his new contract, I can't see starting the 19/20 season with United.

But if Pochs best players start getting sold then I'm sure he'll want out if there's a sniff of a bigger club interest.

Doubt it, it'd be ****ing funny though for the meltdown on here <laugh>

Not really a good fit due to him wanting to play youngsters etc. which is why I'd be interested to see him at United.
