Chelsea could still sign Peter Crouch, despite new Stoke City boss Paul Lambert insisting his 36-year-old English striker is not for sale. (Independent)

Go on, Conte, my son! You go and get your man!

Gary Lineker says

"If they want to keep the likes of Kane and Alli, their star players, they'll have to pay the going rate," he said.

He's probably right.

For those of you who don’t visit the Manchester United board, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that Arsenal fans have been kindly informing us that Sanchez is not a team player and they’d rather lose him than Ozil.

Just saying that since the summer his form has been on and off. He spends his time shouting at his own team and trying to do everything himself. He was becoming a problem. Add in his crazy wage demands and I don't mind taking Mkhi in return and the club trying to sign Aubameyang.

I would rather lose him than Ozil. I've maintained that view from when it looked like both would run down there contracts. Ozil is my favourite player at Arsenal. And the most talented we have had since the days of the invincibles. Absolute joy to watch.

<laugh> Ozil has been bang average for them, he doesn't have the protection behind him to be able to play his natural game. Nothing has changed there. Sanchez is World Class and was just ****ed off with what he saw around him.

He's a good player but needs to be able to wander and find space so until you get a solid midfield behind him he'll continue to underperform.

Clearly you don't watch us much. Ozil has been great for Arsenal. It's very obvious when he is missing from the team sheet. He is our creative force. He's set all kinds of individual records since being at Arsenal and was the catalyst to us starting to win trophies again.

We do need a better midfield behind him. That's something all Arsenal fans agree with. But the idea he consistently underperforms is nonsense. The stats show he creates more than anyone else.

I agree with this, he's a total scapegoat for Wenger's shoddy tactics and he doesn't deserve the criticism on the level he gets it at. I've said for years I'd like him here and it's an unpopular opinion but I think he is a superb player. His creativity stats wipe the floor with media darlings Hazard and Eriksen.

I’d also love him at United and think we’ll sign him in the summer.

I'm not saying he's bad but that he underperforms so more that he could be a brilliant player (again) if he had the right protection behind him.
