Offer him a 18 month contract with a bonus of 5 million for a top half finish and it trigger an extra year. Just get him in, I don't care if he ****s off in the summer.
Interesting move, particularly as apparently there are no other managers in the whole wide world available. Not sure he’s right for that job mind you. If we don’t move immediately for Silva, then Les needs his head examined. I’d be perfectly happy doing it before the game!
Watford claiming that they would have been alright under Silva if another club hadn't made an unwarranted approach for him.
I'd have absolutely no problem with us appointing Silva. I'd certainly be a whole lot happier than I am right now. But I think it's fair to say that he's showed his true colours. He was clearly happy to jump out of Watford after six months. So if he was to come here, and did that to us, I'd like to think that he wouldn't get the Koeman treatment from the fans (who lasted four times longer than six months!). It's not like we wouldn't have been warned.
While it certainly had an impact it probably says more about him than Everton. Everton were more than entitled to enquire.
I wanted him in the summer so wouldn't say no now. All the teams around us have changed manager, other than Newcastle, Brighton and Huddersfield. I can't really see any of those changing manager, maybe Brighton but I doubt it. So Premier League wise, you'd say we are in a good position to get him if we do give MP the boot. However just because we are all in dismay with MP still in charge shouldn't cloud our judgement of Silva. He is decent, but he did quite badly at the end of his time at both Hull and Watford.
I know offers can upset a player, but I don't really see that an offer for a manager (that was rejected) could cause such a disturbance that the team slumps....unless Silva is a real arsehole and causing trouble...and I don't see that as likely.
As i'm in the AABP (almost anyone but Pellegrino) camp, I would be happy if Silva came here, even if it was only for a few months... The squad just needs any half decent, capable Manager to guide it through the rest of the season.
With hull I would say it was largely down to the squad, look at the impact he had there when he rocked up about this sort of time last year with a much worse squad.
Perhaps we have been waiting on sacking MP as we were waiting for this. Either way, win lose today, I could see is recruiting Silva by Tues...
Some on here have overrated him I think. He seems like a twat and Watford have been as bad as us. I'm not sure he's that good.
Untrue. At their peak they’ve played quick, dynamic football. We’ve not played 90 good minutes this season.
Hopefully. Possibly but you can't deny he has an immediate impact which is exactly what we need. Get him in. Stay up and let him **** off to Everton in the summer where he'll struggle
May not be in Silva's financial interest to do so. He will be waiting for a nice pay off....not as if we are a team that he couldn't turn down.
