I can't t see recruiting another AM to replace Pritchard, who was playing out of position because Maddison has come on so well. We have Wes and others who can do that so I'd rather see a winger to replace Jacob. Watkins provides a WR option but we could do with a pacey winger who can get behind defenses and make decent crosses like Jacob did. Pritchard naturally drifted into the centre much like Wes does. Maddison can take the set pieces (as he has been doing).

At the press conference, DF said his priority is an attacking player who can add to goals and assists, but that doesn't mean another AM (we have 4 of those). If we can add another striker as well, that's even better.
Yea, but if Maddison gets injured we are screwed.

We have 4 other players, but Wes is past it. Vrancic is an awful player for us.

We do need a Huckerby! I don't think we could afford one, and I can't think of one we could get on loan.

This is Paddy's Davitt's full view of events:

“He made his move to Huddersfield. We have to accept this,” he said. “For sure, I am disappointed to lose one of my key players but he made it clear in the last few days it was his wish to move. He wants to take this chance to go to the Premier League. It is not for me to judge him. I gave my thoughts as a head coach to the club, the sporting director has his thoughts and then it is up to the board. The club had to decide to agree to the offer or not. That was the club’s decision. It is not up to me to make this decision."

A Huckerby would do nicely, FML, as that's the sort of player we need, as well as the other positions mentioned earlier.

I read we are looking at the Portugese goalkeeper that plays for SC Braga .
Webber is already making up for selling Pritchard by swooping for Quim.

If this is true, it's just like Norwich! We get money in for selling one of our best players, then we kept buying midfielders when we had so many.

We don't need a GK! Gunns here for the season. McGovern is still hanging about if we are desperate. We have Mathews who looks total class, and Oxborough who looks like he could be class in time.

I'd say Keeper and CB are the only places we don't need to bluster! If we don't retain Gunn next season. I'd be happy to Start the season with Mathews. He's done fantastic on every loan.

Yes Quim is on Farke's mind and he has a whopping war chest in his grasp.

....and it's over to KIO........

I can understand the disappointment but a lot of the comment ignores the facts. We did not need to sell to claw in money at this stage but that does not mean that sometimes you have to sell. Liverpool did not need to sell Coutinho but they were forced to. Clearly Pritchard wanted to go to play in the Premiership - I don't blame him for that. The comments coming out from the Club and other sources indicates this and the body language in his interview on TV after the Chelsea game indicated a considerable lack of enthusiasm for NCFC. Of course we could have said no to Huddersfield but would they have increased their offer or moved to other targets? Probably the latter. Would other Clubs have come in for him? Probably not. Despite some on here talking about him in glowing terms what is his Premiership experience? How many games has he played in the Championship? He is a gamble buy for the sort of money you would pay for an experienced Premiership player and that latter sort of player attracts Clubs in a relegation scrap over players with potential. Didn't we buy Naismith when in that position? So at the end of the window we are left with a player who does not want to be here and who is furious at having been refused a chance of playing in the Premiership. Just what the dressing room needs when you are trying to build a side based on fitness, enthusiasm and team spirit!! Webber/Farke obviously had a valuation in mind and when Huddersfield met that valuation it was goodbye to Pritchard. We all know that our new wage ceiling is £10k a week give or take a bit and you won't get experienced players with proven ability at a higher level for that. Any incomings will undoubtedly be younger players from lower leagues or abroad or loans from bigger Clubs and I'm afraid, like it or not, that is our plan for the foreseeable future. We have no choice if we are to remain financially stable. As far as Wildshut is concerned I have to accept that I have little experience of seeing him play but on here the general consensus has been that he is useless and why did we buy him. He was not a regular under Neil or Farke so obviously did not impress them either so why the concern at loaning him out to Cardiff? And then we have Naismith. Quite clearly it has not worked out for him here although with Pritchard gone he might get another chance. He is on big wages but took a pay cut to come here. He is under contract and is quite entitled to sit out that contract and again if his wages are the barrier to a move that is not his fault. I cannot imagine any Scottish Club could afford to pay half of what he is earning here and if that means we have to make up the balance to move him on then that is what will have to happen. You can blame Neil for buying him and some will blame the Board for backing him but at the time we were fighting relegation and can you imagine the hostility against the Board when it came out that our Manager wanted to buy an experienced International Premiership player to help the relegation fight but the Board did not back him.

The coaching team has been bolstered by the recruitment of Dynamo Dresden ex striker and sporting director Ralf Minge .

Can you see McGovern being here at the end of the month. As for the other two I remember Steer, Rudd and Joe Lewis having class and potential - where are they now?

Who the hell is Quim!!! Derby in for Oliveira @ £8m happy to see this lose cannon go for £10m. Although we are short of strikers, this lad is so unpredictable and as we are not going to be promoted we could give some of the youngsters a go.

I guess with Gunn returning to Man City and McGovern probably off to Scotland the club are looking for a safe pair of hands.

At almost 42 he may have lost some flexibility but Quim is just what we need .
