The thing with this is that we scored with both in thecsidevinspite of the system and imbalance in my opinion. Those two were just good enough to make it work. The worry is that we don't have another option suited or unsuited to the Pritchard role who will play it nearly as well. Bah!
If playing a dozen games without winning and scoring less than a goal a game is the Farke way with balance then I would take disjointed wins every time.

If it wasn't because of Maddison and Pritchard interchanges, we wouldn't have turned the game against Millwall from a loss to a win.
What are the areas the club are targeting then? As always, we need a good striker. But, we always need it, and never buy it. Is this Window the times? Expensive window to decide to look for a proven striker. Is LB less needed now because of Lewis? Even though they are sh*t, we still have Husband and Stiepermann in the squad. RB maybe light, but that would be a 2nd choice cover player, and I'd rather use a youth player like we did with Lewis. RW? Jordan Jones isn't going to be enough. Again, wingers are expensive in the winter window. Ben Marshall can play RW and RWB.....
What we will never know is just how badly he wanted out, he wasn't pushed as far as putting in a transfer request to our knowledge. Would he really have downed tools had we blocked it? I'm not convinced he would. I think we could and should have kept him til more money or the summer window came along. Keeping him motivated should be easy; - stay and if we don't go up you can leave for (What ever it is we have deemed acceptable now) - You may get better offers if you continue playing well - You are actually playing, at Huddersfield that might not be the case. - Its Huddersfield! You're right, he should have picked Brighton but in leaping at his first offer in the PL is he being too hasty? only time will tell. He's gone now, not sure it was a good deal for us but again your right, nothing can be done now, Alex who? One of the best players to very briefly play for us. Bah!
Yea, I know that. But I'm talking about getting in a replacement for Pritchard - i.e : Someone who can take set-pieces and score/create goals with Maddison. Dave doesn't think we need to replace that. So I was just giving my opinion
I can't t see recruiting another AM to replace Pritchard, who was playing out of position because Maddison has come on so well. We have Wes and others who can do that so I'd rather see a winger to replace Jacob. Watkins provides a WR option but we could do with a pacey winger who can get behind defenses and make decent crosses like Jacob did. Pritchard naturally drifted into the centre much like Wes does. Maddison can take the set pieces (as he has been doing). At the press conference, DF said his priority is an attacking player who can add to goals and assists, but that doesn't mean another AM (we have 4 of those). If we can add another striker as well, that's even better.
OK so Webber and Farke are in control: DF: "I gave my thoughts as a head coach to the club, the sporting director has his thoughts and then it is up to the board. The club had to decide to agree to the offer or not. That was the club’s decision. It is not up to me to make this decision" This sale is the sort of decision that will likely give Webber a golden excuse to leave for the first club that is offering genuine ambition. Maybe I'm wrong but Farke definitely doesn' sound pleased with this sale, Webber I'd be surprised, Delia, Stone et al laughing all the way to the sherry store. Bah!
4? We had Pritchard, now departed, Maddison, for the time being, Wes, who understandably can't sustain championship level football every match any longer, Vrancic who has basically proved nothing in his (ample) game time here and Naismith who wants out of here anyway. I'll give you one for Maddison and a half for Wessi = 1.5 of those, not four?
Sorry, I don't buy that one at all. DF wasn't expressing discontent, but explaining the SD/HC relationship which he has said many times he's happy with. He didn't want Pritchard to leave, but it was a 'club decision', ie. for the good of the club long-term, especially given that Pritchard wanted to go. The problem in the past was usually that decisions were left solely to the manager and mistakes resulted. If Pritchard didn't leave, Maddison might have, or we'd just stick to what we have until another player left.
What part of DF saying he wants to work with players like Pritchard and the board saying no pressure to sell suggests that Farke then thought, actually I think I'll get rid of my best player? This decision inspite of it being stated that SW had the reins on all things football, stinks of the boards meddling and short sightedness. If you think decisions were purely the managers before, you're fooling yourself. I had hoped the new structure meant that this would be Webbers call. smells like otherwise to me. Bah!
Don't agree Cromer. Maddison is our first choice AM, even over Pritchard. Wes is a very good AM. Not for 3 games a week, but that doesn't make him half a player. Stiepermann's primary position is AM. Vrancic is a CM who can also play at AM. Naismith is also an AM if he stays. We then have Cantwell (who's been on the bench this season) and Jaiyesimi who's on loan at Grimsby. There are definitely other positions we need to strengthen before AM.
Like others on here, I think you believe what you want to believe, GM, but your argument lacks substantiation IMO. Go ahead by all means as a forum provides for that, but I'm not going to get into conspiracy theories.
