Watford were being linked few days ago - he played under silva at hull so might have legs or might be lazy journalism.

Do you mean neither are best in their positions compared with others at other clubs or best at LFC?

I agree if it’s the former - hopefully we replace them adequately. Goretzka and Lemar would have been very good but it would have been better if they were added to what we have and not as replacements.

Yep was on loan at Hull & had some good moments plus quite a lot of anonymous games .I think they were talking about a loan deal - which is probably the best we can hope for in his case.

to be honest Can is not great shakes at DM because he's indisciplined and doesn't move the ball too quickly. He's okay, an average/solid pl defensive midfielder and he doesn't compensate for being a great playmaker ala pirlo.

Coutinho also hasn't really suited the CM position or played their much (someone mentioned he's been an AM half the time this season, dont think so :p). Certainly not part of the midfield 3 for whatever reason. World class player that you will miss (well different to all your other key players)

It’s been reported by a few people now. But I’m guessing the lure of Bayern is too big.

But I have seen comments from his own camp saying he hasn't decided when linked to bayern.

It's probably typical lazy journo crap.

Bayern is the best German team that all German players get linked to in the same way they get linked to Klopp.

I remember when first linked to us you got excited but as soon as the bayern link came in you seem convinced that will happen.

That's how the media work and sell stories lol.

Can is a good player who is yet to reach his peak, and is often having to hold the midfield together himself with little support. I agree with the criticisms of not being great on the ball and losing concentration. But then you have to realise, he’s joining one of the best clubs in the world so he must have something about him.

Coutinho is the link between CM and the attackers. His numbers when starting in CM are ridiculously good but he’s obviously as good when playing further up. He’s the only player we have who can come deep into CM and create. And he’s world class at that.

Big loss but if we sell him and bring in two CM’s - both ball playing, technical, box to box, then I’ll be happy because what we lose from Coutinhos creativity, we will gain in control and possession, and this is what will help us see our games.

Midfield is still one of our weakest areas even with Coutinho and Can.

I really like goretzka. I think he’s a quality player, similar to Can in that he’s raw but a lot of potential.

There was a lot of optimism that he wants to join (which I think he still does) but I’m guessing he wants Bayern more. A few of the local German journos are saying that Bayern are in pole.

Can and Keita in midfield would mean we'd end some games with 9 men on the pitch. **** that.

IMO the fact that he's not done a precontract yet (its usual to actually sign those 1st jan) means he's holding out on his options. If he is doing that he's waiting for someone or the best offer. I'm not sure on the bayern stuff about whether he can sign now or what. I know we can do a precontract now.

IMO it will be interesting to see how long he lets it go. his personal risk increases as he gets closer to the end.

Not sure, a while back I think...

He's got it in him though he can be far too reckless at times. Keita has that bite too.

Having one feisty player is fine, good actually. Not so keen on having a pair of red cads that could end up feeding off each other!

He's not that feisty just too slow and hence often late or tactical (fouls)

That's desire to be here and make an effort though.

    Not down to red cards.

I don't see the point in playing a player until June who has no desire to be here personally.

If he doesn't put in the effort shouldn't play.

We will be paying his wages Wether he plays or not.

About time players realize who pays their ****ing wages whilst they still play for club.
