Watched about half the 1st episode only.....i tend to prefer the more criminal/gangster type foreign shows...although a few years old now my favorite all time foreign crime series as got to be Romanzo Criminale, an absolute classic http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1242773/?ref_=nv_sr_1 for any one not seen it yet.

Yes Braquo is another excellent french series...just wish the Bbc would have more french stuff instead of this obsession with all things Scandiniavian at the moment.

Have you seen 'Future Man'? I'm halfway through that at the moment and it's got a similar vibe. It helps that they've obviously got the rights to use the short jingly incidental music from Back to the Future. You'll understand what I mean if you watch it. Maybe you've already seen it but two of the cast are in Un Village Francais - a quality WW2 series that is an interesting reflection of occupied France.
Really liked Fargo. And a series, which doesn't seem get mentioned much, The Shield, well worth watching if you haven't seen it if it gets a rerun.

You'll find it online in the usual places. It's as good a WW2 series as I've ever seen.
I've been stuck half way through Series 6 for ages - can't find any working links for the newer episodes yet.
If you've got sky you can get a lot of decent stuff, including the WW2 one, on TV5 Monde. I think it's channel 796, switch subtitles on if your french is iffy, like mine.
