I don't fancy it, I'd take someone like Schwartz as a number two for the nostalgic feel good factor but as a manager we need a tough nut to whip them into shape not a tentative new starter.
I think he's had useful time as manager in Sweden or Norway with limited funds - passion and his connections here are all winners for me - we need more than just discipline - man management, tactical nous and desire
I think he may be a good fit and not expensive

He's managing OH Leuven. Leuven is a pretty city, famous for its breweries, in a country with the best beer and the best chips in the world. It'd be great if he came here, but if I was him I'd be as happy as a pig in **** in Leuven.

I grew up on Leuvensesteenweg and actually played for OHL youths before the club grew into the big club it is now.

Suffice to say I know the place well. It's ****ing dull. The beer it produces is jupiler which is swill. Brussels is one thing. Leuven is another.

I reckon if PDC was still here and was supported to the hilt by the chairman the following would have happened.

The players would have revolted and gone public etc as PDC dropped them.

We got relegated without a trace and us fans wudda been up in arms.

All the **** wudda been cleared out once and for all and replaced with hungry PDC desciples.

Promotion follows very quickly and our hungry young fit team are challenging the Top 4.

PDC ATTRACTING THE TOP TEAMS IN EUROPE.

I wish the fascist was back.....

Bart
PDC identified the problem here and was crucified for doing so as he was too open with many of his views - he would have been a revelation here if he was given a bit longer

Yes, Jupiler is awful. If you know Belgium then I'm sure you know the joke about it. Fair enough, there is only Jupiler, Stella, and Domus in Leuven itself but the surrounding area contains lots of good breweries in places like Neerijse, Tildonk and Holsbeek. If I was going to Belgium I wouldn't go to Brussels anyway, there are plenty of far nicer places.

Just to allay the O'Shea fears:

Sunderland are considering a move for Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom
The 40-year-old has been backed into second-favourite for the managerial vacancy behind former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka.

And discussions about Heckingbottom have taken place among Black Cats chiefs, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Heckingbottom, currently on a 12-month rolling contract, has won plaudits for his work at Oakwell.

He guided Barnsley to promotion from League One and the Football League Trophy in his first season before stabilising the Tykes in the Championship last term.

Heckingbottom pledged his future to the Tykes in the wake of Simon Grayson’s sacking last week.

When asked if he was still satisfied with the Barnsley job, he said: “Yes, undoubtedly so.

“Over the years, whether I was a kid, a player, a coach, or working with the first team, there’s been umpteen opportunities to go elsewhere, but I’ve always chosen to stay here, and that’s been down to me at the time.

“Everybody knows what I think of the place. As a team, we carry on. We have to take it (the interest) as a positive because it shows we are doing something right and that’s how I look at it.

“Other than being asked about it now, it’s not even in my head so that’s as far as it goes.”

Sunderland have not held talks with Aitor Karanka
Sunderland have not held talks with Karanka, despite the Spaniard dropping a possible clue on Twitter.

He uploaded a snap of himself at London Kings Cross train station, with the caption: “Next stop…”.

Luton Town boss Nathan Jones, former Rangers gaffer Ally McCoist and Sunderland hero Peter Reid have also been linked with the post.

Express Sport understands that John O'Shea is not under consideration.
