Good to see he hasn't posted anything about FIFA since the game. He realises he had an awful game but I'm confident he'll come out and give everything to make up for it against Boro. We need players like him in a team which desperately lacks passion and determination.

I agree we still need his determination on the pitch

Always amazed at the level of hatred City fans direct at our own players. He had a bad game. People make out how Ash never had a bad game or we never lost once he'd bollocked a few players. Rubbish.

We'll continually get played through while we only play with 2 proper midfielders. It's madness.

He should be in his garden playing wally to practice actually kicking a ball straight. The reason he was so **** is probably because he was thinking "triangle, square, square, CIRCLE"

Why would he think "through ball, cross cross, Shoot"?

Stop making it out like we need to pack the team with defensive players.

How many do you think Forest played? https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1192482/Live/England-Championship-2017-2018-Hull-Nottingham-Forest - I think that shows both teams set up nearly identical. Admittedly Henrikson was anonymous, but both system where nearly identical. Warburton has played with two proper midfielders all season, playing a very similar formation to us.

Our issue is certain players in that formation didn't play well.

Interesting link that. Meyler's accuracy was 67%, not great and we know he gave it away a lot, but Grosicki's was 45%! Primarily because every time the ball came near him he just smashed it first time for no obvious reason.

Edit: There's a lot more interesting stuff on there actually. Worth a look for anyone interested in that stuff.

It's great for dispelling a lot of myths. I think the issue is with players like Grosicki they have to try and create stuff, very rarely will they be passing sideways and backwards, where as your defensive midfielders will do that a lot more.

Passing percentages are a very, very dangerous thing as they're so easily misused and misinterpreted. I bet there are players out there now who deliberately don't try defence-splitting passes in games because it would hurt their stats.

With Grosicki it's all about the end product (which of course he hasn't been producing lately), rather than whether he can pass it 5 yards sideways.

Yeah I completely get that, but when the total number is low and the completed percentage is low too, it's pretty clear they're not doing a lot. Bowen's on the other wing looked a lot better.

Who's making it out I want to pack the team with defensive players. We've conceded more goals than anyone apart from the bottom three. That has to change. Three forwards and a number ten will not work.
Out of your from six only Larsson and Meyler are good at winning the ball.
It's not ****ing rocket science.

Forest did exactly the same as us in terms of setting up. Our execution of it was terrible. If you look at where we concede goals it is very rarely due to us not 'packing' the midfield, the word you used on another thread.

If you assess how we concede goals, it is via other methods, which is probably why Leonid has stuck with this system. We play with two wingers and a number 10, the same as Forest and maybe 8/9 other teams in this league. If you actually took your time to look at how we concede goals and how other teams setup I am sure you would come to a different conclusion. Of course we need to tighten up but last time we won promotion we often played Thudd, Livermore as centre mids, Diame behind a striker with Clucas and Elmo on the wing. The system worked, this time our system is just being executed terribly.

I apologise for trying to use facts and stats on the forum.
