It's the Man Utd ego. It never leaves you. Apparently it means that despite having next to no managerial experience, you expect that very publicly throwing your name into the hat will get people excited.
Pards deserves a better break from Saints fans. He did a job for us. He bought us Rickie and gave us back belief. Allegedly he did a job on a centre-half's missus too, but let's forget that for a moment.
I can be grateful for that day at wembley, but I can also think he is a huge ego that just won't allow him to be successful properly as a manager. His pattern is exactly the same everywhere he goes.
Thanks Pards for Rickie and Wembley, but sorry, just not for me.
Mrs Fonte said he has a big ego, allegedly.
Your analysis is all too true, and there is evidence as you've said. I just didn't like the wind ups from the Northam the first time he came back with Newcastle. Whatever offences he committed, he did play a big part in turning the club around and deserved better than that, in my view.
Good luck, Claude.
Deserves another chance as he did nothing to deserve the sack. When teams face relegation, not being entertaining enough fades into insignificance. Be interesting to see how free scoring his next team is....as it looks like it is a team problem at Saints as both Puel and Pellegrino can get the team in a position to score but without an end result. You must log in or register to see media
Hopefully Puel will take Redmond off our hands and turn him in to the next Thierry Henry.
Thing is, is that many have undervalued Pardew's contribution. Indeed, I think it surprised several when Rickie told of what an influence Pards had been.Mrs Fonte said he has a big ego, allegedly.

I remember that Pardew turned Saints from losers to winners. Not overnight, as we drew too many while under the 10 point penalty, but he got there. That change around from a losing mentality to a winning mentality [the first time I'd heard any football manager say it, now it's commonly heard] took a fair few games. And took us to a Cup Final win. Deserves to be remembered reasonably at least.
