In one announcement they have to tell us three times. Basically because there was no more than a headline, so it had to serve as the subtitle and text too.

Things that occasionally ****ing well annoy me more than they should.

Watching that again it's clearly not a ball boy but one of the Panamanian subs...

Which makes it even better imo <laugh>

So the Video Assistant Referee [VAR] system will come to English football next year with an introduction in the semi-finals and final of the EFL Cup. 12 months too late for Saints fans. Ironically, this BBC video asks if Maradona's World Cup goal would have stood:
Frankly, that was so long ago that I'm past giving a ****. Surely the real irony is that they plan to introduce the system, into the same tournament, almost exactly 12 months after it would have set history correct. :steam:

Although my interpretation, from the way the BBC Scotland reporter was talking about the meeting (before it happened) he was going on about the Scottish FA not wanting to be seen as "rewarding failure." It would not surprise me if WGS jumped before they sacked him with them having a bit of "delusions of grandeur."

The reality is that if he had the England squad they would not only have qualified easily (as the always do in these groups of "minnows") but he would have given them all a blast of "teamwork" and been dropping the superstars after their 3rd selfish run and shot.

I know you can;t have a Scot being manager of England (Ferguson was thought about though wasn;t he?) WGS would soon get our bunch of winkers playing AS A TEAM instead of playing as individuals.

Shame but good of him to speak out.

Was a very highly rated youngster but blighted by injuries, which could of contributed to be fair.

Have you read about the Indonesian goalkeeper who collided with his teammate, and was taken off the pitch.? The match played on and his team won 2-0. But the keeper, who had played 500 games for his one and only club, was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. And fans have met at a candle lit vigil to honour him. I think that's really sad, because he was quite a hero. Imagine if one of our players had died. We'd be traumatised: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41630244

Well, today's result should have cheered you up a bit, beating us 1-3 for our first loss of the season - though it was a close thing 2nd half.

Also, watching a hard fought Southampton - Portsmouth derby totally unsegregated is an experience in itself: a lot of your fans turned up today, but both sets of fans mixed & behaved. Almost as if football fans can behave like human beings!

Yay. I take it was Southampton Women rather than Southampton Saints? I used to follow Pompey Ladies on Twitter, but I stopped after I was on the receiving end of a coup d'etat while working for them.

And I'd imagine anyone who goes to a women's game, especially at that level (i.e. non WSL1) is more of a fan of football in general, and thus less likely to include the neanderthal element of either Portsmouth or Southampton.

Sheffield Wednesday manager, Carlos Carvahal, who Saints were linked to a bit in the summer, is on the verge of the sack apparently

Yeah, Southampton Women - I not only follow them on Twitter, but just about every social media platform & many of the players too. They're all a real joy to go and watch (only £3 + £1 for programme. food/drink at the stadium is cheap too); I should probably follow more grass roots sport at that level - I've started to enjoy it far more than the ever more manufactured "EPL".

Still, you may have knocked us out the League Cup, but we're 3rd in the table (unbeaten) with two games in hand over Plymouth above us & three games in hand over Keynsham. So we've got a half decent chance of getting promotion & revenge in the league next season. We're still in the FA cup too, so lots still to play for whilst it feels like the men's season is already over - no real danger of relegation or Europe...

Why not lend your support each time Saints play one of the so called Top 6. Are City any more loathesome than Manchester United, Chelsea, Lverpool, Arsenal. The exception are Tottenham as they and their supporters are quite loveable. They have not acquired so many plastic fans yet.

Real vs Spuds enjoyable. Spuds have touched the ball about once in twenty minutes, but nearly scored.
