Trump is an idiot (understatement of the year). If Obama couldn't get America to reassess and bring in new gun laws (and he did try), they never will.

Why did you suddenly switch to a different language on line 5?

Back last night from Rome....perfect, perfect weather for a city break. T-shirts during day and able to eat outdoors in the evening. Rome is lovely...haven't been there since the 70s, so almost like seeing it for the first time. Anyone planning to go there should get to the most popular places early or perhaps late. We went to the Colosseum....otherwise we just soaked up the beauty and entered more minor churches for free.....I don't really do long queues. The strange thing was that people were queuing at a ticket office prior to the security queue, whereas we just went through security and bought the ticket inside. Much quicker or we were just lucky. I had to go at the weekend, but week days would be better as we found Monday much quieter.

Apparently it is relatively difficult to get guns in the Northern States, but counts for nothing when you can just drive down South and pick them up from a store.

Already thinking of a return visit. Have to be on my own though....not afraid to do it, but not sure what it will be like with no one to enjoy it with.

I love the Greek islands but because there are so many I wouldn't normally go back to the same island, but I would happily go back to Santorini. Quite different to anything else I've seen, it's a beautiful place. I'm quite envious no7, keep the pictures coming.

I was only having a chat with someone today about the difference that living in a relatively cold, damp country, like the UK, and living in a relatively dry, warm environment, like a Mediterranean country [in your case a Greek Island - Santorini, in my recent case the South of France] and it is like chalk and cheese. And I have to admit, the older I am, the overwhelming feeling I keep getting is make it happen permanently.

Good pics. For your information [and anyone else reading this in the UK who might have the heating on], tomorrow in Southampton will be 17°C and partly cloudy. Bournemouth will be the same. That's warmer than most places in the UK.
Pezenas, France it will be unseasonably warm at 29°C and sunny. In Santorini it will be a more typical 23°C and sunny, for this time of the year. I suspect that SoF is getting winds from Africa for the day because it goes back to 23°C the next day. Around the region, Rome will be 26°C, Naples 25°C, Athens 27°C, Heraklion, Crete 24°C and Valletta, Malta 25°C. Basically, the Med is still in late summer, as far as we are concerned. No wonder they all live so sodding long. Who'd want to kick the bucket.! ;)

I’ve been (still am) quite ill recently. And incredibly grumpy. Really, really grumpy! Not now. Something about the sun that cheers you up [emoji16]

Yeah, I understand the grump. You can't enjoy the surroundings as much as you could if you were well. I get it. However, just imagine how grumpy you'd be if you had to endure the next couple of weeks in the UK.? Puts a different slant on things, doesn't it. :)

We're on our way back to Bali after visiting Mrs Jab's family in Surabaya. Busy arranging our lives to spread our time between Indonesia, England and Holland. The Norwegians have a saying "no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes". I should post John Martin's song Bless the Weather on the music thread.

Waking up in a country where you know the sky will be blue, does so much for my wellbeing, and even if you wake up to clouds there is a strong possibility of seeing the sun before the end of the day.
