Spurs have the division's best defensive record this season, conceding 22 goals, and have kept 13 clean sheets, a joint league high with Chelsea.

(BBC Football, on 7 April 2017)

One cannot take away the fact that Chelsea is currently top of the table, but if we are look at the fact that Spurs has the best defensive record in the division, I think we are making a strong case as being this season's Daddies of London.

Discuss.

Even for you that's ****ing ******ed logic.

Facts are facts, Akky.

Again, you seem too eager to shoot the messenger. I understand that this is something you were prone to do, when the old HIAG used to post facts.

What the new HIAG finds so intriguing is why it is that you should be concerned as to who are the current Daddies of London? Is that something that occupies pub discussions, in the Midlands?

I can see it, now...

Midlander #1: "Eh oop, lad! Oo d'ye reckon is coorent Daddies in't London?"

Midlander #2
: "It's got to be that there Chelsea, lad! They is top, an' all."

Midlander #1
: "Don't be daft, lad! that there Spurs 'ave best defensive record in't league! Daddies don't come any bigger than that, lad!"

Midlander #2
: "Nay! It's Chelsea, lad! Get me another 'alf o' mild & bitter, ye daft 'appeth!"

This ill advised and third rate wum thread was doomed from the start. He started this thread on the 19th of March 2016 after Chelsea's one bad season in two decades. Sensing blood he thought the hapless spuds would rule London:emoticon-0136-giggl

Another wum fcuk up for the endless list <laugh>

First of all we don't talk about being daddies of anything other than our kids because we're not completely ****ing mental.

Sorry a bit random but that just cracked me up <laugh>

I used to work with a lad from Leicester who said that constantly and always had me in stitches. He also used to get excited when he saw the sea <ok>

Sorry lads, as you were <ok>

I thought it was about time that we revisited this superb thread, lads.

As things currently stand, the Daddies of London League looks like this:-

Spurs (3rd)
Chelsea (4th)
Arsenal (5th)
West Ham (15th)
Palace (20th)

I know it's early days, but is anyone else thinking that this isn't far off how it could finish?

Do you think it's a reasonable expectation for Spurs to finish above Arsenal given the differences in squad depth, finances, experience, different aims etc...?

...in the last five years Arsenal have finished: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th, 3rd - giving a higher frequency finishing above fourth and a higher average than 4th... [HASHTAG]#justsaying[/HASHTAG]

In a belated reply to your question - yes - I do think it is a reasonable expectation.

BTW, Arsenal's "squad depth" isn't looking to clever at the moment, whereas ours isn't too shabby.

Superb isn't the word you should of used here Bell....more like a car crash of a thread which backfired and had bitten you at every turn. Written thinking Spurs would champions and we all know what happened there :emoticon-0136-giggl

This will come back to bite you again and again Bell, believe me...

You wait 9 months answer his question after seeing who finished higher.

****ing pussy <laugh>

Not at all, Pix.

I remembered that I had created this informative thread, and thought it was time to update it. That I just happened to have bumped the thread at a time when Spurs is top of the Daddies of London League is pure coincidence.

Also, I had completely forgotten that one of your fellow Gooners had made his ill-advised comment, and was merely helping him out with the answer.

If we do not learn from our ****-ups, we will never progress, Pix. You, above everyone, will know that's true.

Predomitably Chelsea have been the Daddies of London for ages and there's no reason for any changes at least not in a sane mind. <ok>
