Rolly, I was at an outdoor festival in our small home town (Enniscorthy) tonight and my young lad says "Dad, is the guy with microphone wearing a QPR tracksuit top?" Sure enough - it turned out the MC goes to a couple of games per year and has been a fan since he was 6! Us Rs are all over the place!!! The Irish RRRRRevolution is on!

the bride and groom today were from hackney!! really nice people. had a great laugh, they let me put the match on the radio in the car and even cheered with me when we scored lol

Hello there lads, Eamonn here. Just seen this thread and thought I had to reply. I know a few of the lads from travelling over to matches. Myself and the Nephew are season ticket holders in the lower loft. We go to about 80-90% of all home league games and the occasional away game. I started following QPR in 1973 when I went to my first football game. It was Ireland V Russia in Dalymount Park. Russia were the European champions at the time and Ireland beat them 3-0. Don Givens scored a hat-trick. I walked out of that ground thinking Don Givens was a superhero and I used to anxiously wait every Saturday night to watch match of the day or The Big Match (on Sunday's) to see if he scored. I used to love the old plain blue and white hooped shirt. I moved over to London in 1985 and used to go to every home game and quite a few away games too. All my family in London were QPR supporters so it was a social meet up. I lived in London till 1997 and saw us relegated in 1996. After I left London, I was like a junkie without my fix not having visits to see my beloved team every week. I seen us play 3 times at Wembley without lifting a trophy. I wasn't around in 1983 when we won the league so last year to see us win the league in such style was just fantastic. There was a tear or 2 at the Leeds match when I saw QPR finally lift a trophy after 38 years supporting the club. The stick we have to take for being QPR supporters over here is unbelieveable. The worst I ever remember getting was when I first saw QPR in a live match in 1981, Venables was the manager and they came on an Irish tour. I went to see us play St Pats in Richmond Park. Less than 10 months later, we played in the 1982 F.A. cup final but we lost to St Pats 1-0. The slagging I took was fierce. My brother and sister are QPR supporters too and both of them will be coming over with me in the next few weeks to see us play. I wouldn't mind meeting up for a game. An away game that is live on Sky would suit me personally. To be fair to everybody, maybe somewhere in the middle of the country would suit more people? Portlaoise has good motorway links and is only an hour from Dublin, 2-3 hours from Cork/Kerry and Galway/Mayo?? BTW, if anybody needs season ticket or member client reference numbers to buy tickets for games, let me know. We have 2 ST's and 3 memberships in the family. Obviously, the ST's get used for home games but rarely for away games. Thats all. Hope I haven't bored you all but that is how I am a QPR supporter. Here's to our fortunes improving over the next few months.
