My favourite goal of his is when he played RB for Koeman, got fed the ball just out side the penalty area and smoothly slotted it left-footed into the right corner. I remember Adam Blackmore being slightly astounded that he had such goal-getting abilities.
This features my favourite Yoshida goal. Really slick. A win, and one for St Helen as well: Oh, and VVD makes a contribution.
Saints players scoring goals...how wistful. Practice obviously needed, but it's scoring during a game when other bastards are trying to stop you that's the problem. Gives the poor 'left behinds' something to do.
Great. All we need now is to get our midfield to pass the ball to our front players in the first place. When I was at work we had a swear box. I think Saints should have a lazy pass box. Any player making a lazy cross field or back pass gets fined and the money goes in the box for charity. There are five players in our team that would be skint in no time.
Gee .......you've reminded me of something one of the companies I was involved with in Australia. They had a swear box with all proceeds going to charity. About 25 people involved. They raised just over $1000 in that year (a tad over £500) at the time. This compared to the British side of the company which made just over £100. Mind you there was only 10 of us. Also most of them thought that I had made the biggest contribution!!! Naturally I argued that the Aussies swore more than me........... (Either that or they were more honest)
Talking of Australians, have you noticed how they always ask a question and then answer it? "What's your name, Sheila?" "What colour is that, Blue?" "What's your favourite activity, sport?" ...
And they always sound like they're asking a question even when they're making an ordinary statement. It's called the Australian Rising Inflection and it is sweeping the world:
I met a relative for the first time and thought she sounded...let's say not over-bright. After a while I realised she wasn't as thick as she sounded. Then it occurred to me that the problem was this rising inflection. It is seriously annoying and I have to say I would never employ anyone who spoke like that....another disadvantage that some youngsters are landing themselves with. Still they can always work in Australia.
