Using transfer fees as a gauge of how much they've spent - and not taking into account signing on bonuses, wages, investment in the Academy, etc. is a pretty shallow way of doing it.
I'm not for a minute suggesting they've made deep investment into the squad, but the analysis is pretty poor.

It was a summary of our total net spend on transfer fees, nothing more, nothing less.
And conclusions were being drawn about how much they were spending on the club from that.
Only by daft sods who also didn'tbfactorin all the other sources of revenue we had received.
Sure, just making the point it's a shallow analysis and there's nothing to take from it other than we've had a pretty much net sum gain on transfers.
PLT was drawing conclusions about their level of profit based on the numbers posted, and I was pointing out that that was a shallow analysis of the numbers. There really was nothing more to it. As you say, it's a comment on our spending on transfer fees and nothing more.
He said they've taken more in in interest than they've spent on transfer fees, which is true, he said absolutely nothing about the club's profit. Nobody's taken those figures to be anything other than what they are.
Very true, also what's all this hedging of bets on Grosicki, calling him Growshitski and also calling him Turbo and saying he'll be great. What's the point closing your eyes to what we've seen, being a homer just makes people self-righteous trolls.
And on the money don't forget the deposit money from the Chinese that they ended up keeping as well.
