Transfer Rumours Transfer Rumours thread

Nope... don't hate Barca for trying as long as it's within the rules. Don't hate player for asking to leave as long as he does it with time for us to get replacements in.

Would be annoyed with our management/owners if they caved everytime a club came calling while publicly stating they had ambition to win things.

Hence why some are suspicious of FSG after Suarez and thought same would happen with Coutinho...so far it has not.

If we got no one in and Coutinho was let go last minute ...i guarantee you we would not be directing our ire at Barcelona....
Dirty Frank beat me to it but no, I'd blame your Board mainly. You did get money from us, what did they do with it?

Yep, everyone else has [HASHTAG]#calledit[/HASHTAG]

The Southampton board aren't some penniless volunteers struggling for the glory of the club

All they care about is money, but if they call a player greedy the fans fall for it every time

Ahh but remember...they have this genius system that allows them to breed better replacements in pods. As someone said earlier ...funny how the tune changed....laughed at us because we kept overpaying for the wrong guy in their squad to now we are a like a bunch of nasty pirates taking their womenfolk...

Good money as well. No way were Lallana or Lovren the prices we paid for them (at the time). Clyne and Lambert were both last year of contracts so again they got the best in the situation. Mane, well £34m was a lot of money last season, in hindsight on how he's performed since maybe 34 might not seem alot but it was at the time.

Look I understand the Saints fans being upset but honestly, give it a rest.

Sick of seeing the transfer thread dominated by us feeling obliged to explain fine lines between the Coutinho/VVD situations, debate, slate both players 'equally' and then accept that both are not loyal.

Seriously can we skip that now?

It's filling the time between actual news lol

I think that the need for you to ask why we Saints are pissed off with LFC shows socipathic levels of a lack of empathy. Historically, I haven't had a problem with your club and even supported you during those European triumphs in the 70s and 80s. I was less happy when you knocked us out of two cup S/Fs though!. I always respected your club for the way it conducted itself and coached good players into great ones and produced your own. You can take how you feel about Barca and magnify it 5 times as you have been in for one of our top players in every transfer window in the past few years, surely, you can understand how we feel?, we are not businessmen, we are irrational fans, we don't care about money, we care about the team.

course we do.

we are of course rather blinking embarrassed by it too. stop buying good players and selling them at prices we can afford

We have even bought off roma and maybe even monaco this year.. and another geran club nobody ever heard of.. my advice :) is to buy more **** players.... that or just pa them all far more.

thats a bit unfair. they got romeu, gabbiadini.. they got in pelle and tadic off the first money. saints have bought well form ours and utd, and arsenals cash.

Think you've quoted the wrong post.
I was pointing out we've hardly stolen their players, that we paid fair or over the top prices for every player bought from Soton. We haven't gone in a raided them and left them with nothing.

He got whisked away by an alien spacecraft at the behest of the Illuminati.

He now posts on the Alpha Centauri version of not606.<ok>

That's impossible - Sisu conclusively proved (in his mind anyway) that humans couldn't traverse the Van Allen belts 1000km from earth, even refuting the late James Van Allen himself whom the belts are named after.

probably have. sorry.

I think maybe some stems form the fact that actually that summer they lost poch and a heap of players and looks destined to go down before koeman came in and brought 2/3 lads he knew well.

chambers, shaw, lovern, lallana, lambert all gone. l hear form lads that lallana felt like one of their won stabbing them in the back. lovern was only there 12 months. 2 yuong lads mugging them off. morgan the snide whines all summer to go to arsneal and is told to shut up.

but then tadic, pelle, forester, mane and all come in....

if that happened to us and we ended up in 8th 2 points off lfc we would be bloody happy.

LFc then buy clyne who's 12 months left, then utd buy schniederlin... but they get romeu in and van dijk....

then we buy mane off them... 12 month later... pelle leaves and they get gabbiandini

It was when koeman left that they went back a bit and mane...

It is constant losing of players but there you go... I find 90% of the anger still stems from that first season where they got taken apart but ended up oddly better for it.

I think secretly they think they did a bad deal for mane.... but **** me 75mil for a cb... if thats where you want to draw the line fair enough...

As i've said to many reds... the ONLY reason coutinho has not gone is barca have made a crap offer in real terms.

I agree with this.
Why should a Brazilian feel loyalty to an English club? He might develop an emotional attachment, like Lucas, for instance - or he might feel he owes something to a club where he has matured from a raw talent to a more rounded player, but this can't be demanded of him.
What is demanded of him though, is a professional attitude. He is paid money that most people can only dream of, and imo there is no excuse not to give your all to your club until it no longer is your club.
I've no time for navel-gazing prima-donnas.

Why should a Brazillian feel loyalty for ANY European club? I mean the rumour in 2013 when Luis was 'forced' to stay with us and he signed a new contract with a £75m release clause for a non-Prem offer, was that Real were eyeing him. A year later and he's always 'dreamed' of playing for Barca. Likewise, Ford's 'dream' move of Barca will soon become a dream move to Real or PSG next summer if he stays and has a great season and WC.

Be honest now, any ****bag that feigns injury that even his 'friend' of a doctor can only explain as 'emotional stress' can't exactly be trusted when he tells his brother to tell his agent to tell Barca to tell the Catalan press to tell BarSkylona what his actual ****ing dream is. Say what you will about VVD and Keita, they didn't come up with this Anne of Green Gables melodrama. Think Masch did though too, as I remember. Probably co-incidence that they have the same agent and were trying to go to the same club?

What has Van Dijk done wrong?

He informed the club about his wishes, was left behind because he was honest about wanting a move. In return Southampton have constantly briefed the press against him and illegally fined him.

That's a point that - has he actually said he wouldn't play for them, or has he been told by the club that he won't play for them until the window closes?

According to the press, Arsenal was Gnasher's "dream move" the year before as well. <doh>
As for Joorabchian, I've made it plain several times what I think of him. He's a parasite with no interest in the game other than to make money out of it by fomenting unrest amongst players and engineering lucrative moves.

These players should follow Mahrez example. He said he wished to leave and he continues to give 100% to the club that pays his wages. It is about integrity. Why pretend to have injuries or go on strike when the club pays you hundreds of thousands of GBP a week?

The terrible thing is that as soon as the window shuts, if still here Coutinho will make a miraculous recovery and say that he never said anything bad about Klopp and LFC , and that all this yearning for Barca had been put about by his friends and Agents without his consent. And you know what? we would all be prepared to forgive him.

Difference between LFC and Southampton is LFC have gone along with the injury whereas Southampton have briefed against Van Dijk [HASHTAG]#amateurs[/HASHTAG]

I would - he's Latin American and, whilst being unavoidably racist, if he wasn't a fabulous footballer I wouldn't trust him to post a ****ing letter for me.
