i agree... it is pretty much unprecedented my my footballing experience. lambrt (wtf), lallana (too much at the time) lovren (rogers), clyne (nearly out of contract, they had no option)... mane.. dunno why they dealt so early with us last season for 34mil... then... this ... you'd think they would be laughing all the way to the bank really each time and laughing at how we get no better but then they do. perhaps mane was the one that annoyed them cos we did get better finally.
Sorry mate I think you've misunderstood. The not wanting to sell to us because we've had enough of your players is how I see your i.e. saints view and not ours. Now you know how Celtic fans felt when he went to you a year into his new contract there - Celtic fans were none too happy
Whether Southampton sells VVD to Liverpool or any premiership club or not, but it can be a great mistake not selling him. We want harmony with Southampton Football Club. The two clubs are bigger than any one player.
The money is another thing . I am not ITK , but one poster in particular says we are Minted , we must be , so where is it all . And now the Chinese are involved .....
Thing is, it's like a domino effect. If your best players consistently leave the club then it sets the precedent for all current players. So I totally understand and respect their positition here.....they're trying to reverse a decade of being a selling club.....but given their size and exposure, that might not be down to just having money alone.
I know - I get that. But that's football isn't it? It's frustrating, but only clubs at the very top are able to hold onto their best players. If you're going to lose them anyway, why does it matter who they go to? Is there some sense of being another club's feeder? You could say that we've done good business with each other. It's a two-way street, and we've always paid good money. We may well have sold Coutinho to Barca if they'd have come up with an offer we couldn't refuse. Still might do.
can't comment on Shaw , not sure . Morgan did in some ways what VVD has done BUT he knuckled down ,played one last season for us and off he went . I wish VVD would do the same .
yes. but they have had debts to pay off too. At this point the money about is so much they no onger need to sell and neither does anyone else... but that can't change how they attracted their current players, with the exposure in the prem and prospects to move on up. It was a real shame imo (and not anti utd like it may seem) that they did not win the league cup and raise thier clubs profile more that way. If i were them i'd like another 10k onto st mary's out of this period in time.. just as i as LFC fan would like an extra 9k on anfield road end for us.
Schneiderlin briefly spat the dummy when he realised he was being asked to stay and give us another season, but he knuckled down and played well. We saw the Mancs coming with Shaw. I dopn't think Saints fans bear any animosity to Sadio Mane, and we certainly didn't to Rickie Lambert.
maybe..... if it doesn't hurt origi move there then its all good. mbappe staying there is interesting but monaco no longer have skin in that game really.. origi needs assurance that he will get a game... like... thats confidence in yourself yeah..
yeah professionalism. just get on with it. it cuts both ways so as long the club speak openly to a uy and don't lie to him then a player has no excuse to act the **** the first chance a deal comes along.
I can fully understand why you are completely cheesed off with us for constantly ripping your team apart. But my point really concerned us and why WE seem to be so attracted towards your players. Every single transfer window we come calling. May be we see you as a soft touch and as a selling club ? (sorry!)
Honestly don't know . We are and always have been a selling club , perhaps that will change who knows . But I think it's just the way Lallana & Lovren left us to go to you that irks , but again , no idea why they choose you , or you come knocking on our door .
