Thats what you have taken from that? Maybe its because ive rated him for ages and he just lacked that consistency. Since suarez left hes been one of your key players especially when it was just him and raheem. Theres always been runours about him going to barca because he has it all (well hes added shooting because sucked at that). hes always been able to dribble pass and had vision the vision to play people in and thats why clubs are interested in him. Hes been a lot more loyal and less money hungry than most players and even this move isnt about money but about barca. @fedladsonofananfield firstly theres not a footballer in the world for the past 10 years who has said no to more money. Then you take a player like coutinho who has played at liverpool and not demands millions like other egotistical superstars and is now intent on a move to a club that he probably idolised in brazil, has more chance of winning trophies and the fact he has no roots in liverpool. Sure it grates for the common fan but its a no brainer for him. He might not be the biggest philantropist but hes a damn site better behaved than most other footballers (until today). The only thing you can really criticize him for was leaving it so late to disrupt the team and signing a 5 year deal when he probably shouldnt have
Can't remember Couthinho having any "issues" with Klopp prior to Barca wanting him? Philippe Coutinho tells Liverpool he wants Barcelona move and has Jurgen Klopp issues http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ts-barcelona-move-and-has-jurgen-klopp-issues
the only thing is timing which is down to barca. there is no issue with singing that contract. he got very well paid and LFC just got assure 110mil
Same as a few years back. Got champions league, sold our best player and barely spent and didnt spend well. Ignoring Coutinho, I can't believe we didn't capitalise on our position. I mean even Arsenal bought Lacazette.
So is that a play off counts if we win but not if we don't or is it it does not count either way..... or is it all moot cos he is feigning injury anyway
I never said that. I don't trust FSG (or didn't) with the Ford money. if it were to come, But I'm actually pointing out the opposite of what you're saying. I think.
yawn, more dark arts by the barca machine. Knowing full well that Jurgen has put his balls on the line to keep him, they now see him as the main obstacle to the move (the hint was there earlier in the week in the leak about FSG willing to deal, but Klopp wouldn't have it). They're hoping this'll burn all the bridges and Jurgen will fume about it and tell them to sell, but remember, this was done Luis too about Rodgers in 2013, saying he couldn't trust him any more as he had an 'agreement with him about £40m. It didn't work then, and it shouldn't work now. You can see this developing into some sort of dirty protest, with Ford ****ting in his cell. Let him - come the 1st of September he'll soon be playing again.
And if (as looks possible) we end up in EL, he's still not cup-tied for the CL in the January window, is he?
If he tells the manager that he's not having him and thinks his tactics / use of him is ****e, there's surely no coming back from that?
as said, Suarez did all that and more in 2013. It's an obvious tactic, engineered in Barca - fall for that and we may as well say 'Tell you what then, let's go back to the original £72m offer, because the player is really unsettled now and has fell out with the manager. Pay us in instalments too. Oh, and have you any cast-offs too? You have? Well, just double their price and knock that off the £72m'. Nah, let him stew for three weeks with his 'injury' (better still, let him go on strike so we can save on his wages) and watch how pulls himself together, however reluctantly and begrudgingly) when September comes and he remembers it's WC year. Point is, it's come too late to sensibly spend whatever Barca 'let' us have anyway, so we're going to be minus Ford if we sell him with no additions, or minus Ford until September with no additions if we don't. As I tried to point out before and was misunderstood, if we want to do a mad trolley dash on deadline day we have the @ £120m we had put aside for VVD and Keta. I'd rather we didn't though - too many Andy carrols out there for the desperate with money in their pockets. The worst is though what we feared back in May when we got fourth - the team that limped over the line in May isn't good enough to get past a decent team in the qualifiers, let alone survive the group stages of the CL if we get through. Even before the Ford issue arose, this is the major problem, and salah aside we've done nothing to address it. So we may as well keep even a drama-queen Ford - not having him doesn't mean we'll get any replacements anyway.
We (the management and owners) are obviously as thick as 2 planks. Before releasing such a definite statement any one with an ounce of brain would have checked with the player and got his nod. Any dissent, no statement. Yet within an hour of the statement we have the transfer request, destroying in an instant any credibility that the club would have had.
Not really. Owners are saying he isn't being sold. Him handing in a transfer request doesn't destroy that credibility. That will only be destroyed if we sell him
barca are only looking out for no 1. LFC are only looking after no 1. coutinho is looking out for himself southampton are only looking out for themselves anyone getting all worked up about this stuff is only wasting energy.
