Yes fair point about the Loyalty . I Like Dogs .

We have 3 Cats .

Purdey is an 18 ( going on 19 ) year old tabby , who MRS Jasper bought 3 years before I met Mrs J . She had taken 2 weeks leave to be with the KItten , so there is that " Bond " .


Jasper ( My avatar ) is a 15 year old cross between O British short hair silver tabby , and a black Persian . He was allowed to come home to soon , Mrs J bought him just as we started dating , he is the definition of the Cat that walks alone , Very affectionate , but only when he wants to be .

Toby is a 10 year old Cream British short hair . Mrs J bought him for me when I was off on long term sick , so we were together 24/7 for months .


So there is that connection . Even now , when I get home from work , if he is on her lap , he jumps down to greet me :)

We've got 5. I call my wife the crazy cat lady. The eldest are both 18 from before my wife and I married. Mine is a Torby long hair female (just a mix not sure breed). Hers a half domestic tabby/siamese cross. (Looks like a siamese but has tabby markings)

We've got a 5 year old Turkish Van (not pure), a 3 year old Maine Coon (don't think pure) and a two year old boring black/white shorthair that randomly showed up at our door pregnant last year demanding to be let in.

The Maine Coon is all about my middle child. Follows her round like Mary's little lamb, puts up with all kinds of abuse. Daughter has high functioning autism and anxiety. We joke that cat is her therapy animal. Most loyal, perfect companion she could ever hope for.

My dad has a Maine Coon too... Same type personality and loyalty.

Sorry to hear that , but there is just something about having a cat on your lap and hearing it purr .

I absolutely agree. Our older two are pap cats. The MC isn't. She prefers to follow people round rubbing against them chirping or curl up next to my daughter and start a rumbling purr.

First person awake in the morning can expect a chain of about 20 delighted chirpy meows in a row as she is excited to have human company awake. Even after a few years of being greeted like that in the mornings it still amuses me.
