It's a transfer that has to happen. Liverpool have to sell as they get north of £100million for a player who's so far achieved the square root of **** all and Coutinho has to insist on the move as there's no guarantee that Barca will come knocking again next summer.

I look forward to the ex Liverpool players in the media saying how he should go to further his career and how Liverpool should just accept it and let him move.

If he's going get him gone asap, FSG now getting accused of not pushing for VvD with money already at the club(theirs)but waiting for the Couthinho wedge.

    No. He's actually quite expensive.

I don't think anybody could justify turning down £110m for 14 goals and 9 assists across all comps last season. Pogba would have been shredded for that kind of return for £110m.

Coutinho scored 8 and assisted 5 in 2014/15, that's worse than the season Pogba's just had (Pogba 51 apps, Coutinho 52 apps).

He's not and never will be worth £110m, snap their ****ing arm off.

How I feel about selling Coutinho depends on who we buy to replace him. I think he's an amazing player who can change games by himself, that said, he's not irreplaceable and I actually do think he's a tad overrated.

If we don't replace him with a high quality creative attacking midfielder what's the point though? £110mill or £220mill won't help us one iota if we don't use it to buy quality for that position.

We don't have many creative attacking midfielders that fit into his role. Selling him and not replacing with similar quality is a step backwards.

Quite frankly this guy won't cut it as a replacement

You didn't replace Suarez either with anything like the quality he has, it's just football. We didn't replace Ronaldo, we got Michael Owen ffs.

I think your owners could be looking at a bigger picture.

Well, you kinda prove my point. We dropped like a lead balloon when we sold Suarez and didn't replace him with quality.

If we don't replace Coutinho with quality I'm against the sale. If we do replace him with quality then I'm ok with the sale. If Oxlade Chamberlain and several lesser players is how we spend the money then it isn't money well spent.

Murphy recommended to sell him, so he'll be delighted we get far more than the £80m he reckoned Couthinho would be sold for.

I meant when I stamp on his nuts.

    Murphy's, not Coutinho's

I must admit it seemed odd to be today that a few old kopite stalwarts were all singing from the same hymn sheet about Coutinho, most unkopite like behaviour, to hear the likes of Murphy and Sourness saying he'd defo be off. Club PR machine at work?

Both of those you mentioned are not regular contributors to the LFC channel so are not part of the inner sanctum of ex-players.

Thing is, mate, Barca don't come knocking for many players.

If you're Coutinho, it's hard to say No...

I don't want to see Coutinho go but nor would I be overly gutted either. He's not at the same level add the likes of Fowler, McManaman, Owen, Suarez, Torres, Alonso or Mascherano when they left.

Nor is Coutinho capable of a ninety minute display. He's only got 40-60mins in him

Obviously, we need to replace him still.
