For anyone to claim that Celtic and Rangers receive equal criticism in the press/media is a bit of a joke to be perfectly frank.
Compare and contrast the kid gloves with which Sir Walter was handled (and McCoist too so far) with daily reports and pictures of "Raging" Neil Lennon, "Useless" Tony Mowbray and "Sarky wee bastard" Strachan. Every word they uttered was analysed to death. Last season the papers and media never tired of telling us about Celtic's war with the SFA and how anyone connected with Celtic was openly questioning Ref's motives.
Aiden McGeady was criticised on a regular basis as a "Diver", has Steven Naismith been called a cheat recently? After his catalogue of diving he certainly should be but no, he's the new Golden Boy of Scottish Football apparently.
Rangers have gotten an easier ride in recent years so it will be interesting to see how they report things if Ally's team fizzle out and fail.
The last time I can remember Rangers getting a sustained level of criticism from the Scottish press was when PLG was manager and they were really in the doldrums.
