Abel and Fraizer are as good a pair of forwards as any club could ever wish to have at this level. Keane, albeit hasn't showed much this far, obviously has talent (although worrying health problems). Bowen is looking bright and is really a forward, Luer was looking very promising before his injury. I can't see the space for another forward with Abel and Fraizer here, one of the other three surely will be up to stepping in as and when. A few games here and there is not like asking them to step up and perform over a whole season, I think all three of those lads will be capable of filling in here and there and doing a decent job of it.

We need quality on the flanks now and perhaps another Michael Dawson, someone experienced and dependable, doesn't need to be a bank buster these aging centre halves come up cheaply but their experience is priceless and more than capable performing in this division.

You need 4 really. To cover loss of form and injury. It has always been our achilles heel not having enough quality up front. I'd rather have another option, maybe someone that offers something a bit different to our current options. Basically a human wrecking ball for when we need to go 'ugly'.

There's that but I can't see anyone who we'd be happy with coming in. For a start they'll cost money which Abel and Fraizer are surely already costing a lot of, second who misses out? I know we went 4-4-2 but the slutsker has always preferred 4-5-1, which will probably be our main set up as the season pans out. Most clubs just have the one prize striker, we have two. As I said at least one of the other three will surely be capable doing the business when needed in odds and sods.

Villa are knackered on both sides really now. When you look at the players who didn't make the 18, Richards, Amavi, Elphick, McCormack it's no surprise. They're all big earners and are struggling to get rid of them. They were also without Jedinak, Adomah, Grealish and Kodjia through injury so you can see they've got a huge squad.
McCormack is at Sunderland isn't he?

Cool
There is a place for me in the squad after all ! :emoticon-0130-devil

I thought he'd gone on loan to Sunderland?

Edit: Weird lol, must have imagined it

According to reports he's a terrible influence in the dressing room and on the training pitch, he's a bad apple (allegedly) - Bruce wants him out and has banished him from 1st team squad, told him to find a loan team, Sunderland are favourites to take him.

Ah maybe I'd just seen the rumours linking him then.

Problem is he's on £40k pw and nobody wants to pay that

I have it on very good authority that he's a bell end of epic proportions.

An absolute tool.

I get what you're saying but as GLP says, it's our always our weakness and we should take action to stop this being another year where we lack proper centre forwards. Although Fraizer throws himself around they're both fairly lightweight and if we're on the back foot you need an out ball. Hernandez absolutely isn't that. Campbell's work rate helps but what if he gets injured? Another option would make me a lot happier. Someone strong and good in the air who can hold it up.
