Mark Twain is the king of quotes.Tbf on that front, we ought to give some credit to Google, who have made enormous quantities of videos and books available for free--and used giving things away to build their empire.
But I'm not as big a fan of Google as I seem.
And Wagner's music is better than it sounds....sorry, free associating. But while I'm on the topic of great lines by Mark Twain, here's another:
"God invented war to teach Americans geography."
I was told many years ago that he said during a visit to England that he wanted to die in Wolverhampton. On being asked why he said he thought the difference between Wolverhampton and death would be so small he wouldn't notice.
I can't find that attributed to him anywhere. Anyone know who did say it?
