'COUTINHO DEAL AGREED' Big news coming out of Spanish media... Radio station RAC1 report that Barcelona have agreed a deal with Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho. They say a deal has been agreed with the player himself, but a transfer still needs to be negotiated with Liverpool. Quite how that works, without 'tapping up', is beyond me. But we'll wait to see how this one plays out. Barcelona's press conference is coming up having been delayed by around half an hour.
Eh. This is just like the VVD ****, I won't believe any of it until it really gets serious. This is how I see it, if Coutinho goes then he goes, sure we'll miss him but I'm sure we'll cope. I just hope that if he goes then 1. We'll have enough time to replace him with real quality, and 2. We get a good fee off of Barcelona for him.

You note the timing of these..... Both leaks are put out at a time when the internet can go wild and morning papers can be full of them without and counter stories. It's all pure tactics.
That is the only thing to deduce from this episode. Staggering deception, by either FSG or Klopp himself. If it's true, either FSG or Klopp have to go, and no, that's not hyperbole (it's not as big a loss as Luis, but that isn't the point).
As I said the timing tell you everything and you are already off assuming stuff. Come the morning some statement or leak will come out of Liverpool.
All still very hypothetical (in case I'm accused of being hysterical lol) I wouldn't blame him in the slightest. They let him say he had the final say on transfers. If that turns out not to be true surely his position is fatally undermined? If Klopp knows he was telling a lie. There's only one way that could be accepted by fans. (The excuse would be I assume that not playing the game wouldn't get the best deal.) Results. We would need to get all our targets and improve on last year or more unlikely NOT get our targets and still somehow do better without Coutinho. Let's see how it pans out....Barca are well known for this crap. How we react will tell us something.. .
