To my mind, he has not kicked on from our youth cup win. Only Swindon seemed to get the best out of him. His spell at Scunny last season was mediocre at best. I can't see him making it in the championship unfortunately, so obviously I can't see him making it with us. To put things into perspective, our two pre-season games to date would seem to indicate that Jamal Lewis is rated at least as promising by DF.

Lewis being younger has so much more potential, I know Toffo might still get better and football is full of late bloomers, but it appears there is little between them in the here and now and that puts Lewis in pole position I think, well at least until someone else is bought.

Have we signed a LB yet?

Bah!

Expect to see some changes to tactics when the new season kicks off and as Any Head says in his article on MFW, the players will need time to adapt; but as Andy says, we should ALL be delighted to see the end of AN's 4-2-3-1!!!
"This season has a freshness and uncertainty that is hugely exciting and tactically it’s going to be different to anything we’ve seen before. I’m intrigued as to exactly how Farke deploys his 4-1-4-1 formation as while the elements I’ve described are classic 4-1-4-1 tactics, he will undoubtedly have his own style of implementation, which may well differ from my suggestions. He will also have to make it work with the players he has at his disposal. There will be bumps in the road as the players adapt and we may have to make a few mistakes early on before we learn from them. But if we stay patient, this invigorating change of direction could be the making of us."

Edit - A comment from DF in today's EDP - “It was a pretty exhausting week for the guys (in Ireland), we were in the training camp and have done much work, we arrived late Friday, had a hard session Saturday morning and then straight to the bus to come to the game. For sure, we could have scored at least 10 more, there were chances for 17 or 18 goals but it’s quite normal when you are tired and a little bit exhausted that you are not able to take every chance so I don’t mind.”
I'm CONVINCED that we won't be questioning the players' fitness towards the end of games in the forthcoming season. <yikes>

Just like the tweet I posted about the Lowestoft game where "our defence looked shaky".: "It's F**king Stevanage!!!"

If we look this wobbly in areas against Stevanage and Lowestoft. They what the hell are we meant to do this season?

We did have Wildschut at CB though, these early games are always about fitness, I don't read too much in them.
