I don't think Clucas will go.
I don't think Robertson will have a club willing to pay our asking price.
If it's true about Villa wanting Elmo then i think he'll go.
I'm not sure Grosicki will have serious suiters.
I don't think Hernandez will leave. His agent has tried and failed to get a move every transfer window since he joined.

That leaves a defence of:
Robertson,
Lenihan,
Dawson
Two centre backs and a right back would do as Weir can be a back up left back. Or if Lenihan is fit enough and good enought maybe 3 centre backs, one of which can cover full backs. This kid from Chelsea can can't he?

Midfield:
Grosicki,
Henriksen
Huddlestone,
Meyler,
Clucas,
Evandro,
Weir,
Bowen

That's pretty strong. Maybe add in a winger depending how Slutsky wants to play.

Stikers:
Hernandez
Diomande
Luer
Keane
Bowen

We could probably do with a good strong striker.

So in all 5 signings would be enough. 3 at a minimum.

We could do with another goalkeeper too... ;)

And when I snap my fingers!!!!!!

How has Weir gone from being an attacking central midfielder to a right back and now a left back?

And why does Lenihan staying fit mean we only need 3 centre halves?

I think this is a tad of wishful thinking. At the moment we realistically need 3 new centre halves. A right and left back and someone who can cover both. We also need at least one winger and probably a couple of forwards.

But we're still likely to lose Hudd, Clucas, Hernandez, Robertson and Grosicki, so they'll all need replacing.

Don't get OLM started on why Rosenior should never have gone!

It's a fair point, same with someone like Alex Bruce too. Cheap squad players that do a cracking job.

On the plus side, Aina is meant to be able to play right across the defence.

I don't think anyone at the club or the fans is particularly bothered about him going. He's been iffy for too long now. To get £3m for him would be amazing.

Slutsky knows it's one area we really need to improve, hence bringing in Aina.
Its just the further impact on incoming players is going to be so nrgative.
Even existing squad members must be wondering if they can find a way out.
As it stands i do not fancy our chances at Villa.

I see Warnock has issued a hands off Zohore statement. We on the other hand seemingly invite player bids<laugh><laugh><laugh>

City's statements nowadays are always just passive-aggressive propaganda arguing some alternative version of what has already happened. There's no time for anything positive like a hands off statement.

I'm not saying he is a left back. I said he can cover there. He has played there in the past. If needed he can do again.

You have the Lenihan point backwards. I said if he is fit enough and good enough we could sign 3 centre backs rather than 2 as we could save a signing at RB.

A right back, a left back and somebody to cover both?? We have Robertson at left back. We have Lenihan at right back. Meyler/Weir can cover too. Some people expect squads to be way too big. We have 18 places in a match day squad. How many players will be happy missing out week in week out? Depending on Lenihan's fitness/ability we may need to sign a first choice right back. Maybe a young back up left back. Really with the back up players we have we'd be ok with the lad from Chelsea, Meyler, Lenihan and Weir as back up to first choice full backs.

Also who exactly is going to buy those players? Every club supposedly interested in Robertson seems to be signing other left backs. Hernandez tries to move every window but there is no interest. Has Grosicki done enough to stay in the premier league?

Of all those I expect Robertson to go.
Grosicki will clubs pay the money I'm not so sure.
Hudds, Clucas and Hernandez I expect to stay.

Robertson will be gone. You can't rely on Lenihan, he's barely played in 2 years and Weir is not a full back. It's still early there's still 2 months left of the window, a lot can happen very quickly.

I was just listening to a the transfers section on TS and it struck me just what a **** deal the ****s who own our football club have dealt us on top of everything else.. last season was a chance to cement a place in the Premiership but instead we were (and are) at the behest of perhaps the smallest prick ever to breathe Hull's refined air. No squad, no manager, no rudder!!!!... here we are 12 months on and instead of planning for another run of premiership games with the riches attached to it and adding 'selected players in selected positions' we are essentially trying (apparently we are trying) to build a starting 11. Thats why, without a benefactor IF and its a monumental if we are promoted anytime in the near future, we would be ****ed before we kick a ball. I think everyones taken their eye of the real problem at our club and its nothing to do with player recruitment.

Was saying so,ething similar to a leeds fan i give a lift to work too
Weve been a yoyo club a little too long now, last season was THE season to get it right and consolodate after being pretty unlucky with injurys the previous relegation season
But we then had the illness to assem and ehab taking the reins and the behind the scenes spats between ehab and bruce which monumentally ****ed everything up, i dont think bruce was the manager to consolodate us, i think ehab made two big big mistakes and that was not replacing bruce with a higher calibre manager at the start of the season (after promotion, yes it would of been harsh but wasnt bruce ummming and ahhing about staying anyway)
And after theyd obviously met and spoke and bruce decided to stay what the **** was ehab thinking when messing bruce about regarding transfers etc
I think only now ehabs realised he knows **** all in the football world and was in over his head but it seems its damage limitation now, take a total step back ehab and let somebody else make key decisions

Wait till Villa, with Elmo playing, demolish us opening day of season, then say it's great news.
Not overlooking the point that it's another player choosing to move on signalling to others that things ain't right at our club. It just makes Slutsky's task even more difficult.
Stupid comments celebrating Elmo leaving.

Nobody's going to care about Elmo leaving, he was appalling last season.

I think liverpool will sign robertson shortly, which will leave us with no recognised leftback, slutsky must of contemplated this hence the rybus link, but we'd still need another as backup or theres always clucas who could fill in but is no lb

Elmo for 3m great stuff be good to go spend that 3m on a good centreback or leftback, looks like the chelsea lad on loan for the rb spot with ofubajo hopefully to come back and lenihan a last option incase of worst case scenario, did elmo used to sulk when played at rb? Just didnt seem to want to track back or defend resulting in quite a few goals against

Midfield i feel were best stocked in can see clucas and huddlestone starting alot with meyler backup, and mason/henriksen slightly advanced, evandro/bowen rw and grozzy lw, definatly need another left wing option wouldnt be suprised to see jay da silva from chelsea who can cover lb/lwb/lw or piazon who can play lm/lw, worst case scenario diomande as backup for lw also weir who i totally forgot about

Goalkeepers sell mcgregor keep jak and marshall with mannion as third choice

Strikers hows will keane faring? And can he score and keep fit at this level, big question marks and if theres any doubts id sign a striker which slutsky seems to be doing (zokohore) , is hernandez staying??

Centrebacks the massive obvious for us, we need a young pacey physical prospect, as well as another proven in this league (kalas) have we any youngsters who can be fourth choice centre back?

Cb x2
Rb
Lb
Lw
Str

The above depending on who we sign and what utility value they have

At the end of the day we'll have a squad not good enough for a promotion challenge, but not bad enough for a relegation scrap. Mid table mediocre.
