Must be tough to remember though being so long ago? I mean 20 years since you won anything or even came close is pretty embarrassing for a so-called "big club".

I've seen us win two play-off finals, two League Cups, the old Divison 2, League One, the Championship and the PL and I support a poxy provincial club.

QUOTE="Champions of England, post: 1029447, member: 1004410"]Wasn't that the ZDS and we lost 2-0? My last visit there was last season, in fact it as the last away game before I moved to Oz, can't remember what the score was though <whistle>[/QUOTE]

When you say seen, don't you mean watched on TV <laugh>

So prevencial Leicester have plans to extend in three stages.

As long as they get planning permission??

Leicester will be moving to a state of the art training complex, years after others have theirs established.

It will have a 9 hole golf course so I can only see that helping player development and Leicester being a top six club

<laugh>

You lot are really thick. For 20 years I went to about 35 games a season, I even had my own pen in the kop for several years during the 80's when away fans were in Pen 1 and home fans in Pen 3, I was in Pen 2 by myself. That would have been from about 1984-92, before that I sat upstairs in the Double Decker.

So that's every home game and about 10 away so that was 700 by the time I was 24. Though I know I missed three home games, two against Chelsea and one against West Ham just because it was too dangerous for me to go. It's been 17 years since then with only 250 games to go to in that time, averaging just 14 a season and I've done that easily. Even since moving here I've been back to England, it's not like I've come here and not been home.

As I've already said on this thread, I came back for the title win and went to the Swansea, United, Everton and Chelsea games and flew out from London on the Monday. I came back at Christmas the other year and went to Spurs, Newcastle and Villa at home and Liverpool and Hull away. In 2012 I came back for six months and went to every game except the first game of the season at home to Peterborough because I was off my head and still on it so couldn't be fooked. I went to every game in League One. I've easily been to the 950 games I claim to have been to.

So you went to 35 games a season from the age of 4 and had your own pen? Sounds legit <laugh>

I also don't think any of them wish to emulate City and Chelsea and have the opinion of "why not us?". They see money and ambition as the reason for their sustained success and they have both. The club has zero debt, we're extending to 42k next summer and the plan is to be playing CL football.

They have a five year plan of establishing ourselves in the top four and increasing capacity to 60k and then the next five it's serious title contenders and increase to 72k, which is the maximum the new plans allow. These plans have been witnessed by the way. They're also moving to new state of the art training facilities with a 9 hole golf course for staff and players, not sure any other club in the country will have a golf course on their training ground.

When they bought the club the first aim was to win promotion within three years. Tick. Then stabilise us as a PL club and qualify for Europe within five. Tick. Upon stabilising in the PL, extend to 42k and planning permission permitting, they will next summer. Any smart person would put money on it knowing that because nobody will expect it. I will be putting money on us finishing in the top six next season and I bet I'll get great odds.

You quite rightly say there are eight teams who will have a chance at the start of the season and we will have as much chance as anyone else. With the top seven all playing in Europe we have a significant advantage and a squad more than capable. I think we will spend well over £100m this summer.

Maybe we won't win it again in a decade, I'm also hoping but we have as much chance as anyone else.

<rofl>

72k at Leicester, yeah right oh <laugh>

Phew.

Leicester have managed the avoid the signing club of Keane after chasing him all last summer.

Luckily they got a lesser player in Maguire.

Good move as they plan for the championship.....or division two for those who have watched football since the age of four

We don't think he's worth it otherwise we would have gone back in for him, simple as that. He's not worth double the amount of someone who outperformed him and no matter what you say or think, he 100% did.

So yeah he's a good defender but he ain't worth £25m, you're getting mugged off because Burnley aren't keen to sell so you're paying an inflated fee because of that. We just see better value in the player that performed better. Accept it and move on.

So you witness Leicester winning the league....once.

And missing out on Keane.

It's been a good year for you, if only Koeman knew what you do.

Zero reason why not because if we're successful, which is of course the plan, then we have a fooking massive catchment area, the county alone has 650k, of which 250k turned up to line the streets when we won the league! Also no PL team from say Oxford in the south across to Peterborough and Cambridge up to Lincoln and even Warwickshire so that's a lot of potential fans without a club to support and people glory support successful teams so no reason whatsoever why they won't start supporting us.

Leicester are not the club they used to be, you're just stuck in the past with your heads buried in the sand.

Let's hope that they don't suffer empty stands when money is tight and games are in TV. Will you get over to watch them?

You big plassie

Well you have to have glory to get those fans.

Not a good title win and then a push for relegation.

We didn't miss out on Keane, we didn't want him!

I've had a decent year actually, being PL champions and playing in the CL, knocking out the winners of the EL for the last three years and only losing an aggregate tie to one of the best teams in the world because of a penalty that never was, then winning six in the bounce and proving that we're just as good as we were when we won the league and I'm feeling good about it all.

Very happy with Shakey and looking forward to finishing above you next season.

Stop saying that, other clubs might read it and think it's a good idea so give it a go.
All that competition your loose tongue could be creating <yikes>

But kept on bidding up to the close of last summers window?

Yeah, they didn't want him
