Well to get ahead of the other clubs Leicester should look at an 8 hole course. They will have to give 110% to feel like they have played 9 holes.
Yeah but his dad is a security guard at the KP and was at a top level meeting where he saw plans to move the dressing rooms and make them bigger. We just have no idea of the plans being made to rule the world
We have plans to build onto the East Stand that will take us to a 42k size as things stand. Plans have apparently been submitted to the council. The stadium was designed so that the East stand could take an extra 10k and each stand behind the goals could take about 5k each. It's essentially just a case of unbolting the roof and sticking the new seats on top
Depends what you mean by glory fans? I'd say we've got about 60-80k people that would call themselves genuine Leicester fans. Trouble is that not all of them can actually afford to be spending hundreds a week following the club.
Let's not go down that road. Cos in a bit we will have to listen to how a 72k seater ground will be filled.
I am all for passionate supporters, I have been one myself (age seems to make some things a little less important ) but this guy is totally OTT. All clubs want to be the best (or at least the best they can be) but he has been brainwashed into thinking all you hae to do is want it and it happens. Unfortunately if it was that simple everyone would do it, CP over on the Chelsea board is being very gentle and explaining to him that yes, Chelsea, City and PSG are rich and have done it but, there were/are a lot of other factors involved.
Exactly. It would take years of sustained Champions League football to warrant going past the 42k that we'll soon have. We've needed the 42k since promotion but anything beyond that would be too much for now. As you've said, Chelsea have been a properly, properly massive club for more than a decade now and they still live in a 41k stadium.
That's exaclty the plan, it's a 10 year plan that the club have to make us a top four club fighting for titles. Irrespective of what anyone says about other clubs ambitions, not every clubs owners have the ambition of being in the top four because for most clubs it's simply not achieveable because they don't have the money or ambition. Our owners have the money and the ambition and the club have zero debt. There is an awful lot that's happening behind the scenes that will move this club to the next level and while you harp on about Everton being a bigger club, you're stuck in the past just like them. Yes traditionally they are a bigger club but they've won less than us in the last 30 years so they're not the club that we remember as kids and now most people outside of England have barely even heard of them. They've done nothing for 20 years ffs. We also pay more in wages than Everton do so this gulf between clubs that used to be there just isn't anymore and they're no more attractive to join than us anymore. That's the reality of today not yesteryear, where you're all stuck.
And I fully agreed with him and gave reasons for optimism. He's also being positive and while saying how hard it is, also wishing well and not laughing at the idea, which is disrespectful at the end of the day because there's no reason whatsoever for us not to be successful. I know 100% that clubs below Everton don't have the money or ambition to break into that elite group. West Ham you could say might have the ambition of qualifying for Europe but certainly no higher than 7th and they'd be delighted with that. But West Ham are just too poorly run to acheive sustained success so they'll float around top 10 with the others. Anyone suggesting the likes of Palace, Stoke, Southampton or WBA etc have genuine ambition to achieve that is living in la la land. How many of them are extending their stadiums? None of them are so don't be making out that everyone has the same ambition because they don't, not at all. They're all in debt as well, only City, Arsenal us and now Everton have no debt so we're automatically in a far better position to achieve and spend than everyone else. This is why we can pay over £100k/week when Everton were paying Lukaku £90k. We are aiming for CL next season, how many clubs outside the top 7 will be "genuinely" aiming for CL? Fact is none of them. We'll see at the end of this window but I fully expect our transfer activity to match our ambitions and it will be reflected by how much more money we spend than the rest of the clubs you reckon hope to finish top four or at least six.
You do realise that Everton have a few bob too now and an owner that is very ambitious. They are building a brand new stadium not just adding a few seats. Why didn't you manage to hold onto Kante (your most important player), do you think you will hold onto Mahrez (your current top class player) with Arsenal sniffing around. Things need to happen on the pitch, not behind the scenes, you had a great chance to try and attract players when you won the league and qualified for the CL, instead of strengthening you sold Kante and weakened the team. Spurs have a plan, it's taken a fair bit longer than 10 years but it's working very well, Southampton have a plan which also works very well (managers come and go but the style of the team remains the same and the quality of player increases year on year) they will get there eventually. Your plan seems to be We have loads of money, we want to be good, City and Chelsea did it so we will. As Chelsea Pensioner tried to explain to you, it takes a lot, lot more than that.
