this fire would have reached unimaginable temperatures in the 1000c+ ranges, and to rage for such long hours
human remains will be in a horrific state, and it will be hard to recognise them from the other damaged and burnt items etc
and absolutely NO remains are removed from the site until forensic experts have analysed the area and provided evaluations to ensuring they collect all the remains
and they won't make clear of anything they've found until the identity is verified
it's utterly grim and horrific, but that's the reality
and that's why it will take such a long long time
you can't speculate about figures.. that would be wrong morally and unscientific
this is just an absolute tragedy.. and something needs sorting.. it could have been the grenfell or any other number of these horrible towers
making the building look nicer for the wealthy folk in kensington and chelsea to look at.. you couldn't ****ing make it up could you
it is honestly absolutely beyond comprehension for me just how much these people suffered.. it is unforgivable.
i hope all those cheapskating on safety, on supplies etc are brought to justice.
no modern sprinkler system which would have almost definitely helped to contain the fire and heat
no loud communal fire alarm
it was primarily immigrant families and people in this tower block.. if we let these people into the country and we put them in housing association buildings. then people expect to be safe.
i'm very glad the pm has opened a public inquiry into this, (and this is not a political post, so please no stupid political comments)
to me it just seems a 'put poor people in this tower block, and save as much money as possible' type job to me.. again, this is a public forum, i'm entitled to my opinion and if i'm wrong, then i will be very much glad to be wrong in this case.
RIP to all those who lost their lives in this needless tragedy.. it is one of the most horrific things i have ever witnessed on a screen in my life
these post war monstrosities should have been knocked down a long time ago..
