That's an idea that's been suggested in the past. Revolutionary France, in the 1790's, springs to mind.

Revolutionary France never had a land value tax, considering it wasn't theorised until 1879 by the economist Henry George.

The FPTP voting system we have is the best thing about our democracy.

It's weird how all these socialists are now moaning about the poor, underfunded police when for years they've been the police's biggest critics. Labour pretending to like the police <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

I'm curious (honestly I'm trying not to be confrontational with everyone). Do you think the current situation is an alternative? The Tories don't seem to be offering any promises to improve anything so presumably it's just as you were if they get in again. Would more of the same be a good thing?

I'm not going to go into personal detail, obviously , but take it from me this Conservative government have ****ed my finances over big time.

As it stands Labour would hammer me even more should they get in.

I'd have to make lifestyle changes if they get in and won't if the Conservatives get in.

It's a no brainier for me.

Labour aren't socialists, they're social democrats.

This is true.
Only bonuses are paid out of profit.

That would be relevant if I said wages were attributed to profits. The point I was making is businesses will look to cover costs, whether that's an increase in prices, decrease to wage growth or a cut in staff.

And don't forget many company directors take he majority of their salary in dividends whether they earn 20k or 200k, so any decrease to profits will have to be recovered. Shareholders, where applicable, will demand it.

Corbyn is a very honest man don't you know.

J Corbyn would be the best PM this country has had in years

In my opinion

My Prediction is Conservative get more seats

But Labour and others together will be able to form a majority

In my opinion....which counts for nothing of course

I was referring to the ultimate land value tax - nicking the land back from the landowners

That works for me too. Wealthy British farmers are piss-poor. 0.6% of the population in this country own more than 50% of the land, the rest is owned by local councils, national parks, the Crown Estates and the Church. Farmers receive massive subsidies not only from the EU but the UK government as well and yet we still don't have adequate food self-sufficiency; we import more than 40%. So a massive LVT or radical land redistribution akin to Revolutionary Catalonia, either works for me.

Haltemprice & Howden have had UKIP, English Democrat & BNP alternatives for years including a multi choice by-election in 2008.

Nothing to the right of David Davis this year, will have to vote Conservative then.
