Sadly, there were quite a lot acting like ****s towards the CoC2017 volunteers and the bus drivers, due to the long travel times (though they were in the minority).

People who react like that to volunteers are indeed ****s. And people just doing their jobs like bus drivers. Some stewards at football matches are an exception to this rule.<laugh>

A minor difference was, there wasn't groups of one bands fans shouting at and generally acting like ****s towards another bands fans.

Yes, the pro Allam brigade who were in favour of changing our name were a pretty nasty bunch who acted badly towards others with their booing and general hostility.

Maybe so but do other Cities have this PATHETIC!!! rugby v football bollocks and bitterness.
Other Cities embrace their sporting teams instead of hating them.

Never noticed it when I lived in Leeds. I remember one year they both won something and they had a joint parade through the City and appearance at the town hall (a town hall designed by someone from Hull incidentally). You tended to find not many went to both, it was either football or Rugby. You never saw anyone walking around with a Leeds .RL shirt or scarf along with a Man Utd, Liverpool or anyone else's shirt or scarf. No car stickers with Leeds RL in one corner and Liverpool or Man Utd in another. Similar in Bradford, so a Bradford City fan tells me. And in the home of the best supported rugby club, the one with a common name, Leicester.

Was there a concert in Hull over the weekend?

I know Hull is a big place but I didnt realise it spread as far as Sproatley.
Scunny is closer to my house than where the "Hull" festival was held.
It wasn't Hull, it was Burton Constable. Why the need to call it Hull?

Its like calling Knebworth - the Luton Festival.
Centre of Luton is closer to Knebworth than Burton Constable is to Hull city centre
or Stevenage? which is only a couple of miles away?

I'm off to the coast to stay at Hull this weekend then I might go across the river to fish in some of the clay pits in Hull

tbf I didn't go to the Hull festival instead I went to the Hull Springboard musical festival instead.

almost all festivals don't take place in cities because you know, they need a ****ing huge area of space
leeds festival is around 8 miles outside of leeds

it's common sense

Springboard is that the one in Cottingham and not Hull?

Mmmm interesting.

Nobody seems bothered that Glastonbury doesn't take place in Glastonbury.

Same with the Leeds Festival, which funnily enough does not takeplace Leeds. Don't see many people acting like arseholes about the location of that one.
Just a local trait Quill

Ohh dear. Does it really matter? As I said I was born and brought up in Preston nr Hull. If I'm asked where I am from I say HULL, what is the problem really?

Actually Chris Chilton was a Sproatly lad I believe. He went to South Holderness School in Preston. Didn't he play for his home town team? Or maybe not. I will leave it to you.
